Rear: -Kitchen with sink, 25L fresh water tank, 25L grey water tank, gas cooker, and all necessary cooking utensils and dishes. -A bed that can be converted into an indoor table and seats. -Queen-size bed with bedding, pillows, and blanket provided. -Diesel heater for cold nights. -Storage space under the bed. -Fixed cassette toilet. Front: -Exterior folding table at the rear. -Outdoor table and 2 outdoor chairs. Technology: -House (second) battery for using the fridge and power sockets without running the van. -12V power for charging devices in the back. -12V fridge/freezer for storing food.   We absolutely had a great time traveling with the Rolling retreat up and down the South Island. The van runs smoothly and is easy to drive, even for a European who has never driven on the left and who has never used an automatic gearbox before. Kim was very helpful and communicative always responding quickly. The fridge worked very well. I liked cooking with the gas stove. It worked well, even in difficult/windy/rainy conditions. Of course, with one burner you have to keep things simple. We travelled with friends who more or less had a similar setup and cooking together made fine dining possible even in the great outdoors of the South Island. We were lucky to have excellent weather for three weeks. So we lived outdoors and did not have to eat or spend live inside. That would have been difficult. Sleeping for us was a bit difficult. In general, we are light sleepers. When turning and tossing around on the mattress consisting of 7 pieces you quickly find yourself on the wood. Kim told us he was aware of the problem and that he had a solution in the works. I am sure he will take care of it. All in all, an experience worth repeating.

  Kims vans are great. We booked for two weeks for a South Island hiking holiday. The van was sturdy, reliable and the bed/kitchen layout was really comfortable and easy to use. Good storage so little clutter when in use. Highly recommend this booking, especially over the bigger more expensive rentals, mainly for price, quality of vehicle and mileage. Would go directly back to Kim for another booking in the future.

  Our experience with Kims campers couldnt have been better. We absolutely loved our 6 weeks exploring the South Island. The van was ideal. Perfect size, easy to handle and looks much more discreet than whose big bright vans you see about. Made us feel more like a local road user than an obvious tourist. Communication with Kim was a pleasure. He made everything super straightforward and was easy to contact. Pick up and drop off were effortless and Kims flexibility with drop off time allowed us to empty the van and return it without having to rush. The van had everything we needed and felt comfortable and well designed. Weve used a lot of car rental companies in Europe and the States and have often been either disappointed with subpar vehicles or untrustworthy service. Our experience with Kims campers was as it should be; simple, honest and no nonsense. Highly recommend!!!
