New Plymouth is the main hub of the region and just a short flight (under an hour) from Auckland or Wellington. Driving from either city takes around 4.5–5 hours. Voted one of the top regions in the world to visit, Taranaki offers everything from surf to snow, vibrant arts to wild walks — all within easy reach. Summer or winter, this is the kind of place that makes motorhome travel feel magical.
Hiring rules
- No Smoking in the Van
- Can usually collect you from (or drop to you at) airport or other local New Plymouth sites
- No Pets
- No off road driving
- No Beach driving
- Has bike rack for up to 4 bikes. (note: new fat mountain bike tyres may not fit in track)
- Great stereo with four speakers for living area
- Small screen tv with DVD player. Has HDMI connection.
- No satellite.
- Road User charges apply at 9c per km.
- Can provide camping chairs (up to 4) if requested
- Pillows and bedding provided.
- Hirer must be 25 years of age or older.

Cancellations
Strict
- Cancel earlier than 45 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
- Cancel between 45 and 20 days before the start of booking and receive a 90% credit. Booking fees will not be credited.
- Cancellations less than 20 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.
