Hiring rules

• Please treat this motorhome as your own and enjoy your stay. To keep Miss Sophie safe and available for everyone's enjoyment she asks you to follow the below hiring rules:
• Hirer must be 25 years of age or older. Please confirm that all drivers are over the ages of 25 and have held a full drivers licence for at least two years. Drivers license must be shown at booking and pickup.
• A minimum hire different from the standard minimum may apply dependent on the season. Please check the calendar.
• To ensure the motorhome is kept fresh and clean for future renters we have a policy of
• (a) Strictly NO SMOKING or VAPING in the Motorhome or under the awning
• (b) No preparation or cooking of fish, curry or similar in the Motorhome
• (c) If strong odours are evident upon return of the motorhome, a deodorisation fee will be charged and may result in loss of bond.
• No festivals or events without prior consultation.
• Road user charges is a government tax on diesel vehicles in NZ, which is included in the price for all other fuels. An additional fee of NZ$0.09 per km to be paid on return of the motorhome (based on the distance travelled).
• The hire includes an allowance of 200km/day average. Any distance travelled above that allowance is charged at NZ$0.75/km.
• The Motorhome must be driven on sealed roads at all times, with exception of wellmaintained access roads of less than 5km in length used to access camping grounds/ DoC sites
• No offroad driving, beach driving, driving up to ski fields or driving through flood waters, or on roads or other areas that are at risk of flooding or that have been closed by any public or statutory authority or in respect of which warnings are issued by any public or statutory authority
• During heavy winds, if you feel not safe to drive on the road, please park the motorhome in a safe place (facing into the wind).
• This vehicle is long and tall, so when you are driving or parking please be aware, particularly of overhanging trees, buildings or road signs. If any DAMAGE happens, please report it immediately.
• Please be familiar with the exclusions, terms and conditions of your insurance coverage.
• All tolls and fines are the sole responsibility of the hirer.
• Awning MUST be packed away in strong winds, overnight and when leaving the motorhome to avoid damage (and to get a good nights sleep as it can be noisy and flappy if the wind gets up)
• All Windows/Skylights/Cupboards/Drawers must be fully closed and locked, and the gas bottle and all outside lockers closed before driving.
• Handbrake must be engaged when stationary
• EMERGENCY If any engine lights come on the dashboard, pull over immediately and call us.
• ACCIDENT If an accident occurs, get off the road, stay safe, call Camplify on 0800 779 779 they call the AA. Then please call us.
• DAMAGE If damage happens, you must report it immediately who, what, where and when will be required. call Camplify on 0800 779 779 and then call us.
• Pickup / drop off times are by MUTUAL agreement.
• Soft luggage only to be stored inside. If collecting from our place we can store bulky suitcases.
• Payment of a deposit is required by Camplify within 48hrs of your booking being approved, otherwise, your booking may be cancelled due to additional hire requests.
• We don't charge a cleaning fee. Whilst we don’t expect it to be spotless, we do ask you to bring the motorhome back in a clean, tidy state with a clean interior and all rubbish removed. We reserve the right to charge a cleaning fee if the motorhome is returned in an unacceptable state.
• The motorhome will be supplied with a full tank of diesel, gas bottle and fresh water tank and must be returned as such at the end of your journey otherwise a refuelling fee of $100.00 will apply plus the cost of diesel and gas.
• Finally, please ensure you pay the 25% deposit (or the full amount if the start of the booking period is within 30 days) within 48 hours of acceptance to confirm and secure your booking.

  Annette and Udo were truly outstanding hosts, going above and beyond to ensure our trip started and ended smoothly. They graciously picked us up from the airport and dropped us off, offering this service for a very reasonable additional fee. Their warm and welcoming nature made us feel instantly at ease. The camper itself was superbspotlessly clean, meticulously maintained, and exceptionally well-presented. It was also surprisingly spacious, providing all the comfort we needed for an enjoyable journey. The fuel efficiency was fantastic, exceeding our expectations with an impressive average of around 13L per 100kma great bonus for long-distance travels. For future travelers, wed suggest bringing your own high-speed USB-C charger with a cigarette socket adapter, as we found the provided chargers a bit slow. This is a minor detail that in no way detracts from the overall quality of the experience. Driving the camper was a delightit handled beautifully, was easy to park, and offered us the freedom to explore at our own pace. We discovered many free camping spots and enjoyed the adventure of a lifetime. Thank you, Annette and Udo, for your exceptional service and for helping us create such wonderful memories. Your dedication and attention to detail were truly remarkable. We cant wait to recommend this to others!

  We had an amazing time travelling the North Island with Miss Sophie for more than 4 weeks. Communication with Annette and Udo was great - they gave us lots of information and advice already in advance when we were trying to figure out a good travel route. Miss Sophie is spacious and perfect for a family holiday. It was all very clean and well equipped. We also got linen and plenty of towels to take. Udo even added some games for the kids. We would absolutely recommend booking it. Thanks for having us!

  We had a great holiday in miss Sophie, we are a family of 5. The RV is spacious, but drives and handles well. Fuel consumption was lower than expected. Annette had prepared the RV to fit our needs with baby equipment, blankets, toys....
