Hiring rules

• IMPORTANT NOTE: Ian does not come self contained due to the change in rules regarding the blue sticker. This means you cannot park overnight at a Freedom Camping designated area as a fine could be issued.
• No smoking or vaping inside
• No off road driving / beach driving / extended gravel road driving
• Vehicle must be returned clean and in same condition
• Any damage must be reported immediately: who, what, when, where will be required.
• Pull over if any engine lights come on or any irregular noises made from engine.
• Deposit is required within 72 hours of booking.
• 200km/day limit for road use any additional km’s driven will incur a $0.00.3/km fee.
• fuel level must be returned as it was given ie a full tank of gas.

• Hirer must be 21 years of age or older.

  We really enjoyed our time travelling in Ian the Van. Though we got off to a rocky start with some mechanical issues it was fixed as quickly as possible and all communications were swift and clear. Daniel kindly provided extra blankets and a hot water bottle which was really nice, in the end the weather was ideal and only one or two chilly evenings. We appreciated the sand fly spray and the fresh water that are supplied with the car. I would recommend this van to travellers who are experienced with older vehicles.

  Ian was great! It was perfect for myself and my friend to travel the South Island. We never had any issue, was surprisingly good on fuel and had literally everything you would need for a road trip, I would definitely travel with Ian again. Thanks so much Dan, we had a great time! :)

  I really enjoyed my 1 month road trip with Ian. It's maybe not the fanciest van, but he have everything you need. The drive is smooth and the seat are so comfy. Daniel is super reactive and accomodating.

  Van drove smooth and has some minor things expected for an older van, but Daniel has good communication to problem solve and is helpful with addressing any problems/concerns
