In the brief time we had the van, the glove box cover came completely off from normal driving and without being touched, the AC both didn't work and made a horrible squeal when turned on, and the passenger side window would stay stuck open which was unpleasant when driving in rain. Liam acknowledged he knew about some these issues and ignored the others when we mentioned these to him. The van also kept not starting and we regularly had to get jumped. Ultimately, while several hours out of Christchurch and several days into our vacation, we had to return the van because the issue with not starting was escalating and the van couldn't reliably be turned off. We had to rent another van and get temporary lodging last minute that was very expensive. When we asked Liam for a refund for the portion of the trip we did not have the van for he was curt, demeaning, and rude. We tried de-escalating but he continued to talk down to us while insisting we pay for the whole rental. Part of his claim to us was that he told us to contact a number at Camplify for roadside assistance when we rented the van. He did not tell us about any such number or how it worked. He did, however, say that if there were issues or the van needed anything he would reimburse us of what we spent on the van. To my knowledge, Camplify does not have a process for this and I don't know how that would have worked. Several days into the trip, for when we had the van, Liam messaged us saying he had the registration for the vehicle and asked if we were still in Christchurch. I asked what he was referring to and said we were not in Christchurch anymore. He told me he had registration for the van and that he had given me 20 NZD to pay for it at a post office. We never had a conversation about the van not being properly registered and he never gave me 20 NZD. Aside from the challenges above, the van was in poor condition in general, which makes sense as Liam said it was his daily driver. The built up framing supporting the bed is barely supported on the toilet seat and would fall off regularly. The storage unit on top of the van didn't properly close, which Liam advised me on when I picked the van up. The "fridge" is a USB powered cooler that Liam said could just be ran for a few hours while driving. We left the cooler plugged in while driving for 3-4 hours at a time and it never got cold. The front seats were soaking wet when he gave us the van and that water quickly soaked through the towels he gave us to put over the seats. The van cost us a lot of time, money, and stress on our vacation. Liam made it clear he had no intention of trying to make things right with us, did not have a willingness to meet anywhere in the middle, and was aware of several operational and legal registration issues. Operating the van and dealing with Liam were both stressful and by far the worst part of our trip.

We had a good holiday in the camper van and I would recommend it. The downside was that some features of the fan were out of order such as AC, front fan and the radio system, which we werent told, and only noticed after we got the van from Liam. I would recommend renting from Liam but make sure to ask about the condition of the vehicle if these features matter to you.

Liam was always very responsive and supportive. He gave us helpful recommendations and tips, which were very valuable during our journey. This was our first campervan experience, and we were lucky to have the President as our travel mate. She was amazing, driving effortlessly like a bird, and caused no issues at all during our trip. The campervan was comfortable for two people to travel safely and comfortably. It had all the required facilities, including a kitchen,portable toilet, two fridges, camping tables, and chairs etc. The bed was also comfortable. We truly enjoyed our trip with President and highly recommend it to anyone considering a booking. Once again, thank you, Liam, for being so humble and supportive.

my partner and i rented a van with Liam for just over a month, to complete our grand-tour of new zealand that we had been dreaming of. we searched high and low for a rental company that suited us, and didnt feel comfortable to book anything until we found Liams camplify profile. From the moment that I started talking to Liam I knew that we were in very good hands, he seemed to genuinely care, and was very enthusiastic about our story and future journey. Upon collecting the van from Liams address, we were welcomed so warmly, and Liam from that moment became kind of like the Kiwi Godfather of our trip; he was always so responsive for any of our questions, gave us fabulous and adventurous recommendations. Surfers Dream itself is a trustworthy vehicle, we travelled the North and South Islands without a single mechanical issue. It is spacious, with plenty of extra storage room, is decorated beautifully with a wooden interior and Liams some of personal touches, which made it truly feel like a home for us. Liam prepared everything and more that you could need for life on the road, including a sturdy-wind proof table, a comprehensive selection of pots, pans and kitchen utensils, even reusable coffee cups. The van was spotless, and it was clear to us that Liam cared very much for the quality of his rental vehicles. We had such an amazing time that we extended our trip by one week, which Liam organised seamlessly, to soak up as much as we could of the amazing van and country. We will remember our own adventures for sure, but it is extra special to have had our trip bookended with such a beautiful soul like Liam, he gave us sound words of advise, and we couldnt have been happier to have met him. We had such a good time, the van was more than we expected. Liam was so friendly, helpful and knew a whole lot about places to see and be in the South Island. He made our trip so much better and stress free, I highly recommend him so much so that I've already informed him that we will be booking his van again on our next South Island Holiday. Liam was so helpful and kind, explaining everything and prepairing us for our amazing trip around NZ. The van "Charlie Horse" has everything you need to do some serious exploring! Due to lately changed regulations regarding the self contained certificate, the bed was about 20cm shorter to fit a sink and water tank unit. So make sure to chat to Liam about the best option as he has multiple vans with different sizes. Still 10/10 considering reliability of the car and overall experience!!! Thanks Liam

First off, Liam (the vans owner) is the man! he was supper accommodating and got me on the road super fast. the van itself was a dream! reliable, strong, and easy to drive! when i come back to NZ i want this van!

Liam was very friendly and helpful, and he took the time to provide his best tips for travelling the South Island, making the whole pick-up process very positive. The campervan was a great price, and we had no issues with it during our trip. I would highly recommend hiring from Liam!
