Corey Wyvern John 5.0My whanau has taken Cloony on holiday a few times now. It really is a fantastic van and Rory and his whanau make the pick up, drop off and any support you might need during the trip a breeze! The van drives beautifully and it's really well appointed with everything you could want whilst camping. If you can do without having the rear dining area during your trip, I recommend taking Rory up on the offer to use their custom made materess. It makes camping out like sleeping in a fine hotel. Rory also maintains Cloony to the highest standard, it is always impecably clean and tidy, extremely well presented with everything working like new. I really can't rate this van high enough, this really is the one to book, trust me. Just please don't book it when I want to use it next :) Thanks Rory, as always, very much appreciate you and your whanau letting us use Cloony, we really do appreciate all the support you provide us.

Bryan 5.0We've had an amazing time with Clooney around the North Island!! Fully functional and easy to drive

Justine 5.0We hired the van for a few days to head out on a small trip. Even though the van is big its easy to drive and drives well. Van had everything we required plus there was lots of extras which was great. Rory was excellent and always communicating. Highly recommend booking Cloony
Paul 5.0We had the dream van life holiday in the luxuriously spacious, impeccably set up and comfortable Cloony. For nearly 4 weeks, Cloony took us around the North Island with my partner saying he did not feel like he was driving a large vehicle. Cloony was handled easily on windy roads and hills, had good vision (including a reversing camera), a large and secure mount system for your phone when using maps, great connectivity to Bluetooth as well as numerous USB charging ports. The driver and passenger seats out front were very comfortable. The RV! Rory and family keep Cloony immaculate it was spotlessly clean and well appointed upon our arrival. It isnt easy to keep it as clean on the road, travelling wet or dusty roads, however the quality vacuum cleaner provided was strong. The linen provided was of good quality and more than enough spare. Cloony has many features that make it a standout, particularly the auto levelling system which gets quite a bit of attention from other campers! Having solar, we were able to use many features when set up off grid. The storage was ample for us two, and likely would be for 4, but would require some careful organisation if 6 people were travelling in it (eg spare towels and sheets could go in the under van storage.) Rubber containers were provided in the bathroom which were very handy to keep personal items organised. The kitchen was well equipped with all the basics required. We did request a mixing bowl and Rory was able to immediately provide this for us, which we used a lot. The pantry was stocked to assist with getting started included oil, spices, tea/coffee etc, leftover long lfe foods and more. Other supplies provided: toilet paper, paper towel (which as very useful), snap lock bags (used for so many applications from storing opened fetta to keeping keys and phones dry), suncream, bug spray, foil and baking paper, high quality large umbrella, dishwashing and laundry liquid etc. We loved having an annex when set up as well as table and chairs to relax outdoors. The bucket provided was useful for washing sandy feet before entering the van, laundry soaking, storing wet shoes etc. If these are stackable, I believe having another one or two would be useful. The sleeping arrangements: when we booked Cloony, Rory had offered to set up a permanent custom-made mattress in the rear living area for us. I was keen to keep the living space at the rear of the van set up as is, so we could enjoy the views while eating meals or reading etc. and making the bed up each night. It was a silly idea - for numerous reasons so I highly suggest you do not do this! We ended up contacting Rory to see if we could return to his home to swap the rear seats out for the mattress and were so glad we did we then had a bed of luxury for the rest of the trip! If you are reversed in to an ocean view, you can just as easily enjoy that view from your bed! Rory, the host/owner, obviously takes pride in keeping the family RV well maintained and well set up. He is highly approachable and flexible. When our flight was delayed at both the start and end of our trip by the airline, Rory was very adaptable in being able to meet us at new times - (he works locally and is fairly flexible.) Communications were always quick, friendly and helpful e.g. once we followed google maps instructions between towns which took us to a ferry crossing. As we werent sure if we were allowed to cross in the motorhome, we texted Rory and he promptly replied, so were not held up not knowing what to do. Van cost, insurance and Camplify: We found Camplify was highly competitive with with other hire companies. The insurance seemed fairly standard, however no option to reduce excess even lower. As we didnt need to claim anything, we cannot comment on claims. Note, it was easier and quicker to communicate with Rory than the Camplify staff. Seeing NZ in Cloony: our main tip would be to be flexible - we booked a few days for the start of our trip and after this were grateful we hadnt booked anything. We had an itinerary/route which we loosely followed and had the ability to stay extra nights where we loved or move on when we wanted to e.g. due to weather etc. Getting accommodation last minute was much easier than expected (travelling mid season Summer but after school holidays. ) For nearly 4 weeks, Cloony safely and comfortably guided us around the North Island (predominantly North of Aucklandup to Cape Reinga, as well as Hamilton, Raglan and the Coromandel Peninsular.) We are happy to share our itinerary, place recommendations, travel tips, average costs, photos on the Cloony FB page if requested. Cloony was the ideal vehicle for our travels it would be difficult to find an RV of such high standard. And Rory was the perfect host, with his genuine support available before and throughout our trip. We couldnt recommend Cloony and Rory high enough!
Alan 5.0Excellent! The camper has everything needed for a trip.
