For a smooth as trip, it helps to know Sirocco is suited for 1-2 travellers. He’s self-contained, so you can freedom camp legally. Please return him tidy, refuelled, and with the waste tanks emptied. Don’t worry; we’ll walk you through how everything works before you set off. Important to note: Sirocco is a manual drive. He has a double bed that runs side-to-side, so if you’re taller than a standard bed length you won’t be able to hang your feet off the end. And finally, please, no off-roading and no smoking.

Hiring rules

• Driving Restrictions
• No offroad, beach, or skifield access roads, including Skippers Canyon Road.
• No festival use unless preapproved in writing.
• Driving on unsealed roads must be preapproved in Camplify Messages before your trip begins.
• Maximum daily distance: 300 km per day, averaged over your total hire period (e.g., 5 days = 1500 km included). Extra kilometres are charged at $0.65 per km.
• Do not leave the South Island.
• PickUp & DropOff
• Standard hours: 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM (unless otherwise arranged).
• Late return or missed pickup/dropoff times incur a $100.00 fee.
• Airport pickup/dropoff may be available for a $50.00 fee – please confirm in advance.
• Payments & Charges
• A deposit is required within 48 hours of booking approval to secure your hire.
• Road User Charges (RUC) are additional to the daily rate and charged at $0.09 per km travelled.
• Extra cleaning fees will apply if the vehicle is not returned in a clean condition.
• Diesel fuel must be returned full (as received). Diesel only!!!
• LPG cooking gas must also be returned full — refill at petrol stations and keep your receipt.
• Cleaning & Care
• Please remove all belongings and dispose of rubbish and recycling responsibly.
• Toilet use is for emergencies only — please plan your poops. If used, the cassette must be emptied and cleaned at a legal dump site. A $300.00 cleaning fee applies if not returned empty and clean.
• Keep Sirocco tidy a cleaning fee may apply if returned excessively dirty.
• No smoking inside or around the van.
• Pets are allowed only upon application prior to pickup.
• Safety & Emergencies
• If any dashboard lights appear, pull over immediately.
• If an accident occurs: Get off the road and stay safe. Call Camplify on 0800 779 779 for roadside assistance. Then call Chris or Sam to inform of the situation.
• Any damage must be reported immediately; include who, what, where, and when (plus a police report if applicable).
• Equipment & Limitations
• No ski or snowboard storage is available in the van.
• Do not drive to ski fields — please use the transport services provided by the ski areas.
• Hirer Requirements
• The hirer must be 25 years of age or older.
