Max comes equipped with the basics, oil, salt, pepper, tea & coffee, etc. All you need to get are your food and drinks. There is plenty of storage in the back for your luggage or extra items and there is a tow bar for a bike rack if you have them.

Hiring rules

• No Smoking, vaping or use of illegal drugs in or near the vehicle.
• No offroad travel including ski access roads
• No Pets
• The vehicle must be returned in the condition of handover. Please ensure the following is completed the rubbish is removed, the fridge is empty, bench spaces are wiped, dishes are clean and put away, floors swept and the toilet cassette is clean and empty, return with the wastewater tank empty, but you don't need to worry about filling the fresh water tank. Failure to return clean will result in excess cleaning fees of $199.00 being applied.
• Return with fuel full of DIESEL all hires include a full tank upon departure. Road user charges apply upon return of vehicle @ 9c per km
• Hirers are welcome to take the van up to 200kms a day. This will be averaged out over the duration of the hire. Example: 5 days hire x 200kms allowance 1000kms for hire permitted in the rate, additional kms will be charged at 50c per km and deducted on completion of the hire.

• Hirer must be 21 years of age or older.

  We loved Max and Marty. The van is perfect for 2 people. You can freedom camp without ever worrying about running out of power, no hooking up required! The van is super comfortable and easy to drive. Marty was a wonderful host, his videos were super helpful. We loved our NZ holiday!

  We recently rented Max, Martin's van, for an unforgettable adventure around the South Island of New Zealand, and it was absolutely unreal! From start to finish, the experience exceeded our expectations. Max was the perfect travel companionspacious, well-equipped, and thoughtfully designed for comfort and convenience. The van had everything we needed for the ultimate road trip, including a comfy bed, a fully functional kitchenette, and plenty of storage for all our gear. It was incredibly easy to drive, even on the winding roads and mountain passes, making it a joy to explore the stunning South Island scenery. Martin was a fantastic hostsuper friendly, responsive, and helpful. He provided clear instructions on how to use the van's features and gave us great tips on must-see spots and hidden gems along the way. His attention to detail and care for Max were evident, and it made our trip seamless and stress-free. Whether we were waking up to the sunrise by a crystal-clear lake, parking up near the beach for a sunset dinner, or enjoying the breathtaking mountain views, Max truly felt like our home on wheels. If you're planning a New Zealand road trip, I cant recommend Martin and Max highly enough. This van made our journey unforgettable! Wed rent it again in a heartbeat.   Marty's campervan was the perfect vehicle for our two week honeymoon road trip around the South Island. Just the right size for two people, yet spacious enough with enough living room to stand up, cook, and have meals. The hot shower was a breeze to operate and so comforting after a long day. The cassette toilet was very easy to clean and dump. There were many nice touches including great cutlery (a sharp kitchen knife which is very handy compared to most RV knives!) and high quality tableware. Bedlinen and towels were also included. Pick-up and drop-off are at a super convenient location close to Queenstown airport (a short 10 minute Uber ride away). Marty was also great to deal with, very prompt with his replies, and even came down to our campsite to help us troubleshoot something on our first night (it was just us being rookies and not knowing how to operate the campsite power, rather than anything wrong with the vehicle). He even has a suite of YouTube videos available for you to refer to if you have any questions about how to operate the vehicle's functions. Overall, we can't recommend this campervan more and would pick this again anyday for a road trip around New Zealand!
