Philemon 5.0We spend 5 weeks in Shazza and went pretty much everywhere in New Zealand. Bradley was very responsive and friendly during the whole trip. The Van is on the old side but somehow we were surprised by how reliable it felt. The 4WD is a very big plus as even if NZ roads are very good and pretty much always sealed, freecamps are most of the time big bumpy dirt / sand areas that are easy to get stuck in. Van is packed with details and very functionnal. You have usb plugs everywhere, an inverter, a solar panel, an anti-slip surface on the kitchen, hangers, sink, etc. It's a compact van meaning some manipulations are a bit of a pain but that also mean you can park it everywhere while bigger vans are restricted a lot in parkings / camps. It's certainly not the fastest, and the amenities are not the best on the market, but it's cheap and will get you safely and reliably anywhere you want.
Elizabeth 1.8We loved New Zealand, but booking Shazza with Bradley will always be a sour memory that we frankly are just putting behind us. But I want to share an honest review for others because we do not recommend booking with him. Shazza: THE GOOD: She survived us accidentally putting gas in the diesel engine!! Such a stupid mistake. But the Toyota engine is virtually indestructible, so we were lucky! But, that is where the good ends. THE BAD: the locks dont work appropriately, you have to crawl through the van to unlock the back door anytime you want to open the trunk, the AC does not work so you will have to drive with windows down if its warm which is very loud over the diesel engine, the passenger will be quite warm all the time as the engine is under the passenger seat. The engine is strong but the van is not powerful, so be prepared to have your foot all the way down on the gas anytime you're on a freeway and especially going up hills. Windshield wipers worked intermittently and the defrost did not work, which is challenging in the rain. No outdoor shower system and the awning poles do not tighten so that was unusable. Power outlet is right up against a box so it is virtually impossible to get a power adapter plugged in there if you need one. In general: if you are looking for a weekend banger, Shazza is totally fine. If you want a comfortable 2+ week longer road trip, book something else. Bradley: Honestly just a terrible host. -We initially sent a request and asked if a different city drop off was possible. He never even replied, just denied our booking request. I wish we had left it there and moved on. Instead, we send another request with a second note. He actually acknowledged us that time and accepted our booking. -Check in was about 5 min total as he absolutely rushed through everything. Couldnt be bothered to spend any more time than that explaining anything. -When we accidentally put gas into the diesel tank, we immediately had it towed to a local diesel mechanic to have the tank drained. The mechanic had us ready to start up Shazza again, totally confident she would run great. However, Bradley intervened and cancelled our whole trip, insisting that we do not let the mechanic start up Shazza and instead pay for her to be towed back to Auckland (+/- $600 NZD) so he could assess the van himself and do whatever work needed to be done. For the next 5 hours we sat stranded in this mechanics office. Camplify told us we would not be refunded our 2 week trip even though we were only 2 days in, and we would have to pay for the tow to Aukland and whatever expenses Bradley claimed there were. It was an awful situation. We finally resigned to this and booked ourselves an SUV at a local airport. Bradley however came to his senses (more likely he realized he was legally required to let us pursue the certified mechanics recommended repair plan, because when he called back he stated that he was on a recorded line). Once Bradleys fit was over (5 hours later) our mechanic started Shazza up and she ran fine the rest of the trip. Totally unnecessary and stressful drama added to that situation by Bradley. -When we dropped Shazza off, Bradley was friendly at checkout. We emptied the entire van in front of him. At the airport we got inflammatory emails about some coffee grounds spilled. (We spilled coffee on the kitchen counter but he has a basked bolted down so theres no way to move it to sweep under it. We clean everything we could but it was impossible to get under there). Long story short, avoid the drama and book with someone else.
Emma 5.0Really lovely little van - easy to drive and had everything we needed!
Juul 5.0We had the best time in Shazza. Did a 5 week trip around New Zealand and he did the job perfectly! Easy and efficient communication with Bradley. Would rent Shazza again!

Maggie 5.0Shazza was perfect for our trip around the North island , she is equipped with everything we needed, comfy to sleep in and was super easy to set up. Bradley was great to communicate with and was very accomdating to our questions we had before and during our time in the campervan, we enjoyed our stay in Shazza and would highly recommend for anyone needing a campervan for the North!
