Vando is a Kea Horizon six berth motorhome on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis with a 2.2 litre Turbo Diesel engine. Vando has the new green self-contained vehicle certification. Vando is fully equipped with: • Kitchen equipment: sink, 130 litre fridge freezer, cook-top with three gas rings and one electric (when plugged in), grill, range-hood, washing-up liquid, pot scrubbers, cloths, tea towels, oven mitts, drying pad, apron, electric kettle and toaster (when plugged in), separate kettle for gas cooker, coffee plunger, pots, pans, kitchen utensils, chopping boards, bamboo plates and bowls, mugs, cups, wine glasses, cutlery, microwave (when plugged in). • Pantry: tea, coffee, milk (let us know of any preference), canola oil, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, soy sauce, white and brown sugar. • Bedding: one double and two queen beds, sheets, pillows, wool and goose-feather blankets, mattress toppers for rear and middle beds (top bed is made up of two single mattresses), cushions, individual reading lights for top and rear beds. • Bathroom: shower, sink and cassette toilet, hand soap, towels, hand towels and face cloths, toilet brush, toilet chemicals (one pod for every three days of your hire). • Outside: awning, camp chairs, table, 240 V cable for plugging in at camping grounds, pegs, clothes line. • Safety equipment: two fire blankets (one either end), fire extinguisher near rear door, smoke, gas and carbon monoxide detectors, first aid kit, emergency torch, six seat belts (five front facing, two with tether points for car seats), dual front airbags, ABS, EPS, traction control, reversing camera. • Other: gas hot water for shower and sinks, 150 litre fresh water and waste water tanks, 9 kg gas bottle, diesel heater, safe, television with DVD player and set of New Zealand DVDs, stereo with Bluetooth and CD player, fan heater (when plugged in), six power points (when plugged in), solar panel with 12 V battery, two USB charging ports. One way hires welcome (e.g., pick up at Queenstown, drop off at Christchurch). Pick-up or drop-off locations (location fees waived for hires of 10 days or longer): • Dunedin city and airport - no charge • Invercargill (including airport) - $200.00 • Queenstown (including airport) - $250.00 • Christchurch (including airport) - $300.00 • Other locations by arrangement Note - this is the price for one pick up or drop off, e.g. to pick up and drop off at Queenstown airport would be an additional $500.00. Wifi available as an optional extra at a rate of $70.00 per hire. Have your online grocery order collected and chilled/frozen goods put in fridge in advance of your arrival for $30.00 per hire.

Hiring rules

• Vando is a nonsmoking motorhome please do not smoke or vape inside.
• The toilet cassette and waste water tank must be emptied before Vando is returned. Failure to do so will result in an excess cleaning fee of $150.00.
• Please contact us if you would like to bring your pet, but note that they will need to be restrained inside the vehicle (so this will reduce the number of seatbelts available).
• Vando must be returned with a full tank of diesel.
• Road user charges are additional to your daily rental rate and charged at $0.09 per kilometre. These are calculated based on the kilometres travelled via Camplify’s pre and posthire checklist.
• 200 km per day are included in the daily rate. This will be averaged across the length of your hire, and additional km charged at $0.75 per km.
• All drivers must be 25 or older with a full licence, and must present their licence (and passport if licence not issued in New Zealand) at the beginning of the hire.
• No ski field access or unsealed roads.
• No beach driving.
• The awning must be packed away before strong winds and/or bad weather arises. We also recommend packing away overnight or when you are away from Vando.

• Hirer must be 25 years of age or older.

  We loved holidaying and adventuring in the Vandalorian! It had all of the things you need to camp for 7 days. We were very comfortable in the beds (2 adults at the back, 2 children (4 and 6) in the middle, and one 18 year old up the front). Very nice clean and warm bedlinen, the heater kept us comfortable. Great kitchen set up. We toured the south island lakes and stayed in the most magical places! We stayed in powered camp sites every second night, and stayed wild every other night. Highly recommend the Vando, and our host Theresa! :)

  Our trip was nothing short of amazing. Theresa is a great host, and was very accommodating for us. We did reserve it for a long period, 16 days, and because of that, we were able to drop in a different city. That was a huge benefit for us. The RV was stocked very well, and included items I wasn't expecting, such a laundry detergent. Theresa did explain how to work things, but maybe the fact that we may not have listened as well as we could have, was the reason we couldn't get things to work for us. We actually cooked about 60% of our meals in the RV, that was a major bonus to having a well stocked kitchen. Honestly, I can't say enough about how happy we were. If I were to return, I would definitely be reaching out and renting VANDO again.

  Even though our hire ended early as the motorhome had an unexpected mechanical issue, we still had such a great experience thanks to Theresa, and with camplify support. Her communication was excellent every step of the way, and she went above and beyond to make sure our holiday could continue by personally sourcing with camplify and driving to meet us with a replacement motorhome. Theresa picked up our groceries & packed the motorhome to allow a hassle free first day. Theresa even stocked the fridge and pantry with helpful basics. Having the option of wifi with the van was such a great extra! The linen was top quality and kept us cosy in the cooler nights as well as the diesel heater. The handover was clear and well explained. What could have been a stressful situation turned into a really smooth and enjoyable trip because of the care and effort Theresa put in. Highly recommend!

  Everything was made so easy and accommodating right from the first enquiry. Hiring Vando to tour the South Island was an amazing experience! Theresa went above and beyond to make sure our winter trip was comfortable, providing extra blankets and a diesel heater we stayed toasty warm even in negative temperatures. All instructions for using the van were clear and helpful, and Theresa also shared great local tips on groceries and driving conditions. The van came with Google Maps installed, which was super handy, and we added the extra WiFi which worked perfectly for our family. The convenience of having the van delivered straight to the airport took away so much stress, and even organising and fitting a baby seat for our five-year-old was taken care of. Thank you again we had such a memorable holiday in New Zealand thanks to Vando!

  Brilliant winter holiday for our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids aged 11 and 9 yo) plus our Labrador who travelled a short way with us as well. We have been on multiple campervan and camping holidays. This is the best campervan we have hired: tidy, clean, comfortable beds, warm, quiet (less noise than others we have hired), many little things provided that made our trip better (handy food items provided including good quality coffee and some chocolates!, extra woollen blankets, cushions, fun kiwi movies and excellent wifi (good enough for some serious gaming during the mid trip rain!), bike rack for 2 bikes, linen and towels and everything you need for day to day living. It was below freezing almost every night and we were toasty warm. Beds & pillows were the most comfortable we have had to date. Used Rankers app to find good camp sites - recommend this app for families. Our whole family had a brilliant winter holiday and the kids want to hire Vando again asap -which is high praise from some hard-to-please kids! Theresa was excellent to deal with: fast clear communication, understanding regarding our needs, professional in her approach and, we felt relaxed and confident taking Vando. Highly recommend (but dont hire too often because we want another trip soon!).
