A few things to know before you hit the road in Betty: 🚭 No smoking or vaping inside To keep the interior clean and comfortable, smoking and vaping inside the camper is strictly not allowed. A cleaning fee of $200.00 will be applied if this condition is not respected. 🧻 Toilet and grey water must be emptied Please return the camper with both the toilet cassette and grey water tank emptied. If they’re not emptied, a $150.00 cleaning fee will apply. 🐾 Travelling with pets We may allow pets on request — just let us know ahead of time. If approved, pets must be properly restrained while travelling, which may reduce the number of usable seatbelts. ⛽️ Fuel requirements The diesel tank needs to be full when you return the camper. 🛣️ Road User Charges (RUCs) As required by NZ law for diesel vehicles, RUCs are additional to your daily hire rate and charged at $0.09 per kilometre. Distance travelled is calculated from Camplify’s pre- and post-hire checklists. 📏 Included distance and extra kilometres Your booking includes 200 km per day, averaged over your total hire. Extra kilometres are charged at $0.75 per km. 📄 Driver requirements All drivers must be at least 25 years old and hold a full driver’s licence. If your licence isn’t from NZ, please also bring your passport. 🏔️ Where you can drive Betty’s not set up for ski field roads, unsealed/gravel roads, or beach driving — so please stick to sealed roads only. 🌬️ Using the awning The awning should be packed away in strong winds, heavy weather, overnight, or anytime you leave the vehicle unattended. This protects it from damage. 🍛 Cooking smelly food To keep the space fresh and pleasant for everyone, we ask that you don’t cook foods with strong odours (like curries, fish, or fried foods) inside the vehicle. These smells can linger in the upholstery and be hard to remove. You’re welcome to use the outdoor portable BBQ, which is perfect for these types of meals. Thanks for helping us keep the camper nice for the next traveller!

  We had a fantastic holiday in Betty, presented beautifully by Ian and Andree who are very friendly and accommodating. We really appreciated the indepth explanation for using the van and had a very enjoyable time away, a comfortable trip to and from our destination.   We had an absolute amazing experience with the campervan! From our very first interaction with Ian, everything was seamless and thoughtfully arranged. We travelled to Dunedin, supporting our girl's at a sports event, and Ian went above and beyond delivering the campervan directly to our accommodation, aswell as meeting us again at the airport for pick-up af the end of our travels. He even offered to take our girl's sports gear and excess luggage, which made a huge difference and allowed us to maximise our space. We were welcomed with a generous basket of snacks, along with wine, cheese, dip and water already chilled in the fridge - such a thoughtful touch! The kitchen was exceptionally well equipped with everything we needed. We comfortably stayed at freedom camping spots and truly enjoyed all the luxurious the camper had to offer - an outdoor gas stove, chairs, a table and more. The hot shower, toiletries and cleaning supplies made everything easy and stress free. The beds were large and very comfortable, with quality bedding, pillows, and even towels provided, which made traveling from the North Island much lighter. The campervan was impeccably clean, cosy and exceeded all our expectations. We had such a wonderful getaway with Betty - it was a fantastic first campervan experience. Thank you so much Ian and Andree for making out trip seamless and memorable. We could not have asked for a better family experience and can't wait to hire Betty again in the future!

  Amazing little get away in Betty! Andree and Ian were just lovely to deal with and incredibly helpful getting us set up with the van. Betty was super easy to use, comfortable to travel in and impeccably clean. Andree and Ian were just a phone call away and happy to assist with any questions we had. They made the whole camper experience seamless and enjoyable. We cant wait to hire Betty again. Thank you

  We had such an awesome experience with Andree and Ian. They were so helpful before our trip and during, answering messages immediately. They picked us up from the airport and had already picked up our hire car seat for our baby. So awesome. Can not thank them enough. They had a little welcome food hamper for us too which was such a nice touch! The van was fantastic, clean, functional and had been super well thought out with a good selection of plates, bowls, pots and things for cooking- all padded so there wasn't the usual camper banging and rattling in the back. One of the best things was the solar panels which would allow you to do your whole trip without plugging in unless you want to use the microwave, toaster etc. Comfortable and easy to drive, beds were comfy and you can have the back bed set up and still have seating with the front couch and table. Such a great first camplify experience, I hope to hire this van off these guys again in the future!
