- Named in honour of his previous owner, Flying Dutch Theo is a super tidy machine! - Professionally designed and built to maximise space and utility, Flying Dutch Theo can drive with a maximum of 4 people (2 in the back and 2 in the front) and sleeps a maximum of 4 people with 2 beds one in the rear of the camper and the other above the drivers seat. - Kitted out with heaps of solar power this camper is 100% off grid meaning you will have plenty of power wherever you go! - Comes with an off-grid diesel heater that heats up the van quickly and is great on cold nights and mornings meaning you will be comfortable whatever the conditions are outside! Hint hint this van is a great idea for anyone coming to Queenstown in Winter!!! - Unlike some other camper vans, this one has a super high roof providing 2.1 metres of interior height meaning you can stand up and walk around inside which makes it way more comfortable hanging out inside. - A decent sized table pulls down at the rear of the vehicle in which 4 people can sit around, eat or play board games on a rainy day - The main bed folds which maximises space and means you don't have to remake it from scratch every day. - Flying Dutch Theo has a big engine meaning you wont struggle to get up hills. - For cooking you have all you need with a great stove, microwave, fridge / freezer and of course all cooking and eating utensils, cups glasses etc. - Comes with an outside table and chairs great for a nice day. - Pick up and drop off available from Queenstown airport. Pick up or drop off in Wanaka is preferred if this is convenient. - Pick up or drop off before 7am or after 5pm preferred during weekdays but I can often find a way to accommodate requests outside of this. - I am available to answer any questions you have and have great advice on where to go!

Hiring rules

  • Rules:
  • Pick up and drop off from Queenstown airport. Wanaka is also a possibility but would need to be agreed prior.
  • No smoking inside.
  • Cooking must be done with a window open
  • On return the van must be cleaned well inside to a similar standard as it was found.
  • On return the grey water must be emptied and fresh water refilled.
  • If used, the toilet must be emptied and cleaned.
  • A $150.00 cleaning fee may be applied for failure on any of the above.
  • Hirer must be 21 years of age or older.

Cancellations

Flexible

  • Cancel earlier than 10 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
  • Cancel between 4 and 10 days before the start of the booking and receive 90% credit. Booking fees will not be credited.
  • Cancellations less than 4 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.

    Loved our time travelling the South Is. in Theo. Richard was fantastic to deal with and the van was very well organised and comfortable for our travels. Thanks!

    We had a great time in Richard's van travelling around Queenstown, Te Anau and Wanaka. The van felt very reliable and was good for steep hills. We plugged into the site each night, making it easy to charge phones and other devices. It was a little small for four of us, especially two people in the top area. The beds are not the comfiest, and I would recommend bringing some extra padding. We barely used the kitchen, but the fridge worked well. We only received two towels, but the other linens were satisfactory. Communication with Richard was very good, and we really appreciated having the van delivered to the airport on New Year's Day.

    We had a wonderfull time with Flying Dutch. The van was as described and well equipped for the 3 of us. We experienced no problems during our stay. We will certainly return to NZ and would be delighted to continue the adventure with Flying dutch! Thank you Richard, Théo and Shani!

    Fantastic van! Perfect for my trip around South Island. Everyone was easy to use and very well equipped for an easy & fun road trip. Richard was lovely and super helpful & responsive.
