Layout of the van is awesome, very well designed. Needs some TLC/ there are a few things to take care of. The tires are the most worn out tires I have ever seen. It poured on us the first day and we hydroplaned several times. It is dangerous how worn the tires are. Car keys were dead and did not really work. We also received the van and they assured us it was filled with water. We drove to mount cook with no services around us and ran out of water on day one. Richard did not deliver us the van but his friend did, and his friend did not show us how to fill up water so that took a bit to figure out how to do everything. Not super clean inside either, really needs to be cleaned thoroughly inside and outside. They advertise a back up camera but it is a plug in small screen. You have to pull it out every time you reverse, it is not mounted. It is hard to utilize No blue tooth or apple play, they just gave us a speaker which unfortunately was dead with no charger

Highly recommend! Hiring from Richard was a breeze, the van has everything you need and was super comfortable and is great to drive. We hired Wilkin for 18 days around the South Island. Richard was super helpful and communicative, whether it was questions we had about the van or travel tips. Pickup and drop-off was super easy. The van is extremely well laid out, with plenty of storage and pretty much everything you need, incl. a couple of camping chairs, a table, etc. (really the only thing missing was a French press - but we donated one so you can enjoy). It's also a lot more cosy and personal feeling than most of the other big camper van companies we saw in our travels, which was quite nice. Overall the experience was great, and having this van absolutely made our trip. Thanks Richard!

We had a wonderfull time with Flying Dutch. The van was as described and well equipped for the 3 of us. We experienced no problems during our stay. We will certainly return to NZ and would be delighted to continue the adventure with Flying dutch! Thank you Richard, Théo and Shani!

Richard was fantastic to hire from - communication was seamless, and he was always available to answer any questions we had. Hiring his van made our holiday truly unforgettable. It was incredibly well-equipped, spacious, and comfortable, with everything we needed to make our trip perfect. I couldnt recommend hiring this van more for your next adventure, it will definitely elevate your trip!

This was an incredible and durable van that had all that I needed when traveling between Wanaka and Queenstown. I felt comfortable throughout my trip and would highly recommend for trips ranging from individual to 3 people.

Renting the van from Richard was a fantastic experience. The van was perfect for my tripsuper easy to use and equipped with everything I needed and more. Richard was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout the process. Highly recommend!

Loved travelling around NZs South Island with Theo. The van was clean and a joy to drive around in. Richard was also very helpful with any issues that arose and enjoyed giving us travel tips. Would highly recommend! :)

The solar power and gas heater in this van were game changers, allowing us to use freedom camps and still have power and be warm. The van is also very economical on fuel which is great given NZ fuel prices. We found the van easy to drive and great for getting up hills. Staying in flying dutch theo for 10 nights was very comfortable and we would love to rent her again for any future NZ adventures.

This was our first campervan trip with our mini dog. It was great that we could take the dog with us as the van was pet friendly and we appreciated that. Overall, it Was just right for us with everything we needed. Richard was great, very friendly and personable.
