I would recommend the same and to not rent to this person. I pride myself on providing a good service and have never had a negative review across 5 vans like this. They requested a 100% refund from Camplify who rejected there being any basis for any refund what so ever. This is my response to Camplify: Mechanical & Safety Concerns Incorrect that there are mechanical issues. The vehicle is serviced every 10,000 kilometres and does not have any break issue. It had just received a new CoF a few weeks before the hire. The vibration she is talking about is the ABS braking system which is a safety feature of the van which she ironically is calling a safety issue. This complaint was never raised to me during the hire. I could have explained this to her. Utility Failures Please refer to the messages shared with the hirer on this. The house battery which powers the utilities in the van is charged through driving the van and through the solar panel on the roof. There is also the option to charge the house battery by plugging the van into an external power source. I told the hirer on handover that there appeared to be a beeping noise / fault reported by the previous hirer when it was plugged into an external source. I told them on handover that there is no need to plug into the external power source because the solar and driving the van would more than sufficiently charge the house battery. They smiled, noted and said they understood this and there was no issues mentioned by them at the time. They then sent me a message reporting the beeping noise at a camping ground from plugging into external power where I asked them why they were doing this and there was no need. I am completely confused what their issue is with this and believe it comes down to misunderstanding of clear instructions repeatedly given to them. With the gas, I explicitly mentioned that they should check the gas and should refill it before they went anywhere where they would not have access to a place to refill. I told them where they could get it refilled also. Managing the gas is an obligation the hirer is responsible for, and I made this clear to them. Cleanliness and Hygiene This is incorrect, the linen was 100% cleaned and the van presented well and very clean on handover. I cleaned the van personally and it was done to a high standard. Important to note that the van was returned very dirty which I have in my hirer rules constitutes a $150 extra charge. Happy to send photos across of this and show you photos which prove the van was clean on handover.

Our experience with this camper van was unfortunately disappointing, mainly due to communication and reliability issues. Richard arrived late at pickup and was difficult to reach throughout the trip. There were long periods where messages went unanswered for hours or even days, which made it stressful when issues came up. We also werent given clear instructions for drop-off. Because of this and needing to catch a flight, we had no choice but to leave the van in a parking lot, which wasnt ideal and added unnecessary stress at the end of the trip. The biggest issue was the electrical system. The Projecta Intelli-Charge stopped working, and the solar battery consistently stayed low and struggled to hold a charge, even after driving in full sun. This made it difficult to properly freedom camp and limited how we could use the van. When we tried to get help, communication was again slow and not very helpful. At one point, it was suggested that we take the van to a shop ourselves during our holiday, which isnt something renters should have to deal with. Overall, the van had potential, but the lack of communication and unresolved mechanical issues made the experience frustrating.

Great van, really enjoyed our time with it. Comfortable, has everything you need, easy to drive on NZ roads. Richard and his team were always responsive for anything we needed. Highly recommended.

We had a great time in Richard's van travelling around Queenstown, Te Anau and Wanaka. The van felt very reliable and was good for steep hills. We plugged into the site each night, making it easy to charge phones and other devices. It was a little small for four of us, especially two people in the top area. The beds are not the comfiest, and I would recommend bringing some extra padding. We barely used the kitchen, but the fridge worked well. We only received two towels, but the other linens were satisfactory. Communication with Richard was very good, and we really appreciated having the van delivered to the airport on New Year's Day.

Honestly the best little campervan. The layout is superb and it can fit four people (two adults slept up top!). It helps to have cooking interior as weather and sandflies can be a deterrent. Great coms w Richard everything was a breeze.

Highly recommend this camper. It far exceeded our expectations. Every detail had been thoughtfully considered, from the included speaker to the overall setup. Weve rented campers before, and this was by far the best. The magnetic blinds were very easy to use, the space was well designed, the bed was extremely comfortable, and there was plenty of storage. There was a small issue prior to receiving the van, but Richard handled it quickly and efficiently. We would definitely hire from Richard again.
