Hiring rules

• South Island travel only
• Must be returned with a full tank of diesel
• No Smoking or vaping
• Grey water to be emptied at appropriate station
• RUCs (Road User Charges) to be charged at 9 cents per km at the end of the hire.
• Remember to pay your tolls and tickets they will be passed on if you forget.
• Ask us about pets. We love our fur babies.
• 300km per day travel included (average per day for the entire booking). After that $1.00/km.
• Extra fees apply for:
• 1) Returning without a full tank of fuel ($50.00 plus the cost of fuel)
• 2) Leaving spilled diesel on the side panel paint ($50.00)
• 3) Not emptying the toilet ($175.00)
• 4) If the vehicle is returned very dirty or smelly (inside and/or outside) ($175.00)

• Hirer must be 21 years of age or older.

  Perfect Van for two old friends to do a lap around the south island in. Well fitted out, comfy, and the diesel engine made easy work of our narrow, windy and sometimes steep roads! Highly recommend

  We hired Felix Solar for a long weekend touring the South Island, trying out a campervan holiday with kids, and it was a great success! The van is comfortable to drive and to ride in, and easy to convert between modes. It has a simple layout that functions really well, and is easy to keep tidy and clean. There are plenty of great campsites with toilets in NZ, so we never felt the need to have a toilet on board, and we appreciated not having to manage that! Will and Tally were very easy to communicate with, and were very accommodating when we wanted to change our plans. We plan to hire Felix Solar from them again!
