Graeme was no ordinary campervan—he was a four-berth legend, a wanderer with a soul stitched from the fabric of New Zealand’s highways. Once, he had called Oamaru his home, resting among the town’s grand whitestone buildings, listening to the hum of the harbor and the chatter of the steampunk enthusiasts. But Graeme had a thirst for adventure, and now he was based in Christchurch, waiting for the next great journey to unfold. He was warm—not just in temperature, thanks to his trusty gas heater, but in spirit. A welcoming companion for those who sought the open road. His solar panels drank in the sun, ensuring he always had energy to keep going, and his shower was a refuge for weary travelers at the end of a long day. Graeme wasn’t just a vehicle—he was a home, a friend, a gateway to the beauty of the South Island. On a crisp morning, Graeme set off with a group of eager explorers. His tires hummed over the Canterbury Plains, stretching toward the Southern Alps like an embrace. He rolled into Lake Tekapo, parking beneath the watchful gaze of the Church of the Good Shepherd. That night, his roof was kissed by the stars of the Aoraki Mackenzie Dark Sky Reserve, and he felt truly alive beneath the cosmic brilliance. From there, he carried his passengers to the rugged depths of Fiordland. He braved the winding road to Milford Sound, his headlights cutting through the mist as waterfalls cascaded from the towering cliffs. When his travelers stood on the deck of a boat, gazing at the dolphins dancing in the water, Graeme sat proudly on the shore, knowing he had brought them here. Queenstown greeted him with its wild energy—bungee jumpers leaping from bridges, adventurers launching into the skies in paragliders. Wanaka wrapped him in its quiet beauty, the lone tree standing resilient in the lake, a reminder that sometimes stillness could be just as powerful as movement. On every journey, Graeme made memories. He carried laughter, stories, the scent of fresh coffee brewing in his kitchen, and the whispered dreams of those who traveled within his walls. He knew that, though Christchurch was his current home, the road would always call him back. And as long as there were mountains to admire, lakes to reflect in, and highways stretching endlessly ahead, he would keep moving. For Graeme, adventure wasn’t just a destination—it was the very essence of his existence. 4 seater Auto-trail Tribute. 2016 Auto-trail Tribute 669 4 berth motorhome based on the 2.3 diesel Fiat Ducato chassis. To be kind and constructive !!! The van did not measure up. As van owners we expected everything to be usable.Damon knew that there were things wrong and he just laughed. The fridge did not lock and had to be taped up. The awning was "Suspect" No plug in the bathroom basin. Bathroom window bolted up. ( We would never have leased a van with no bathroom ventilation. ) The basics. !!! No dishcloth or any sort of cleaning cloths. I asked for towels and got 2 ratty old beach towels. The frying pan was inadequate for 2 let alone 4 people. It seemed to us that it was cobbled together at low cost to make money with no thought for users. With very little cost and a trip to k mart the deal could be different!!!!! We would not recommend and would not hire again. The bed and bedding were great!!!!!!!

I hired Graeme DCamper for a trip from Christchurch down to Queenstown and it was hands down one of the best ways to see New Zealand. The van was reliable, comfortable and set up perfectly for both free and paid campsites along the way. We stayed in a mix of freedom camping spots and holiday parks. Waking up to views of snow capped mountains with the sun hitting the peaks was unreal. Parking up next to a creek or lake with nothing but fresh air and silence made the whole trip feel epic. Graeme DCamper had everything we needed so we could pull up anywhere and feel at home. If you want an easy way to explore the South Island at your own pace, Graeme DCamper is the way to do it. I would absolutely hire him again for another NZ adventure.

Great little van that ran and handled well on the open road and the twisty roads of the Banks Peninsula. Perfect for two people. The small space is more suited to shorter and smaller people. The van provided all that we needed for our fully self-contained week travelling.
