She's a 2003 Toyota HiAce, manual transmission. It's an ex-rental so space is optimised and had some great extra features. -Toyota reliability - 5 speed manual transmission - Fully self contained so you can freedom camp across NZ - fridge 75 Litre /freezer 10 litre that runs off the van battery, lasts at least 3 days off grid. - Double burner gas cooker with gas bottle compartment vented to outside, - Sink with 12v pump and an extensible tap for showering outside - A heat pump so you have instant hot water for washing up or showering - USB plugs to charge your phones - Onboard 50 litre fresh water tank with 12v pump to tap, and 40 litre grey water tank - You will never have to carry the tanks, just fix the provided hoses to a tap and you are good to go. ⁃ Fixed toilet ⁃ Powerful custom-built lights for general use and spotlights for reading ⁃ Walk through between the seats for easy access to the accommodation, ⁃ One double bed 2.0m x 1.6m (close to a queen). ⁃ High roof (2 metre internal height) so you’re able to stand inside comfortably which makes everything easier! ⁃ Separate house battery which will keep the fridge, lights, water pump for sink, phones etc running while off grid. Voltmeter installed to check easily. ⁃ Ample storage space under seats and cupboards at each end of the roof for bedding and luggage ⁃ 230v Electrical lead to plug into campsites, which also charges the house battery. ⁃ It drives like a car and parks like a car ⁃ Rear opening door to capture the view while dining ⁃ Comfy living area which converts into the bed ⁃ Separate external dining table and camping chairs ⁃ All the cutlery and cooking gear you will need. ⁃ Electric and hob kettle, toaster and microwave provided -NO air conditioning

• NO offroad / NO driving on the beach / NO extended Gravel Roads/
• NO smoking inside
• NO pets
• FUEL Return full of PETROL All hires include a full tank upon departure.
• CLEANING Either return the van cleaned or select the small cleaning fee.
• COOKING GAS / grey waters These are taken care of by me, included in the service fee.
• SUSTAINABILITY Please don't litter and make the most of this selfcontained van, leave only footprints behind.
• Usual pickup dropoff times are 6am8am and 6pm10pm. Can be more flexible on the weekends.

• Hirer must be 21 years of age or older.

  Penelope while an older vehicle ran very well. The sleeping area was spacious and was a good fit for me and my 11 yo. A great way to see NZ!

  We had the best holiday ever in Aileen's van Penelope. It was reliable and got us to some great places in the north island. Aileen provided us with some goodies for our first couple of breakfasts which made us feel very welcome. Everything about the van was easy and worked well. The bed was seriously comfortable and everything was set up to cook simple meals. Thank you Aileen for letting us use your lovely van.

  Great we used the van to head up to martinborougg for the weekend. Was comfortable and drives well for its age.

  Lovely van for our two person trip to Auckland, a private campground near Tutukaka and a few days freedom camping in Taranaki. Everything we needed was provided, including some extra thoughtful touches. The fridge lasted for days without driving or plugging it in. Note that as advertised, there is no aircon so on hot days it's best to drive early or late in the day. Aileen was super helpful and easy to deal with.
