Even though there are road user charges the overall cost is cheaper than any petrol campervan. Overall it is about 20% cheaper to drive a diesel.

We spent almost two weeks with Kelvin in September and he was the perfect companion. Reliable, easy to drive and equipped with quite some power to tackle every road we wanted to climb. Inside you'll find a big fridge, a very warm duvet, pots, pans, heaps of storage... Basically everything you'll ever need, even a heater for the cooler nights. Thanks to Teresa we spent an amazing holiday on the North Island. Our initial booking had been cancelled and Teresa kindly offered us Kelvin as a backup plan. We're so thankful for this opportunity! She is very responsive, always ready to help and super kind-hearted. If you want to hire from someone who knows their way around campervans and all the adventures of NZ, you should absolutely choose one of her campers for a relaxed holiday.

We had an incredible 5 weeks with Kelvin! The van is really spacious and well equipped with everything needed for cooking - the air fryer in particular was a game changer! The bed was comfy, there was loads of space for storage, and having a big fridge made stocking up on groceries really easy. Being able to fully stand up inside without needing to stoop at all was also a big positive. We drove all round the North and South islands and the van drove so smoothly and reliably, and the engine is more than powerful enough to zoom up the steepest of NZ hills. Finally, all of the communication with Teresa was so friendly and helpful - we could not have asked for a better person to rent from. She even gave us a lift to the bus station to get the (very quick and easy) bus back into Auckland CBD. We thoroughly recommed hiring from Teresa, and if we are ever in New Zealand again we would definitely re-hire Kelvin.

I have dreamed of seeing New Zealand since I was about 9. I finally got to see this amazing country and traveling by camper van was definitely the way to do it! Kelvin, out camper van, was amazing. Everything was clean and ready when we arrived. Teresa, our van host, was very helpful and shared so much information with us. New Zealand is definitely a place where getting off the beaten path reveals the true beauty of this country.

Overall, we had a good time with Kelvin in this wonderful country. :) It has a powerful engine and is a very reliable car. We really liked the good standing height and comfortable seating area. Its dimensions are very convenient for narrow streets or the ferry. We never had problems turning or fitting into parking spaces. With Teresa, we always had a contact person who was available and communication was friendly and quick. On the negative side the car was handed over to us dirty (there was tomato sauce on the table and the fridge hadn't been wiped down) and the cooking equipment was a little bit poor (1 pan & 1 small pot). So we spent time cleaning and buying pots & cups. Unfortunately, the bed is relatively hard because the mattress is very thin. We always put the mattress from the alcove underneath. With 29 and 32 years old, you shouldn't really notice it in your back (especially for this price). Also you have to be aware that there isn't much storage space. Thank you , Teresa and Kelvin, for letting us explore NZ - what a lovely place on earth :).

The road trip with the Van was so nice. We drove 3000km and nothing went wrong. Driving up hills was so easy with him. We really enjoyed the trip and had no issues with the vehicle. We definitely recommend the Van to other people.
