Hiring rules

  • Deposit is required within 48hrs of booking
  • Hirers are welcome to take the van up to 200 kms a day
  • (Additional kms charged at 30c per km and deducted on completion of the hire)
  • Not to leave the South Island
  • No offroad driving, this includes gravel roads
  • If the van is damaged or in an accident, it must be reported immediately
  • Van must be refueled before return. Diesel ONLY
  • Road user charges apply, calculated at $0.09NZD/km
  • Hirer must be 21 years of age or older.

Cancellations

Strict

  • Cancel earlier than 45 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
  • Cancel between 45 and 20 days before the start of booking and receive a 90% credit. Booking fees will not be credited.
  • Cancellations less than 20 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.

    Otto is ideal for off-grid travel for days! The fridge capacity is great, the bed comfy, all the lights/charging points you need off of solar. For a small "van" otto was perfect.

    We had an amazing trip in Otto. The van was perfect and had everything we needed. Communication was quick and easy. Would definitely recommend hiring Otto for your New Zealand road trip

    This campervan is perfect for 1 to 2 people. Great 12 volt set and good size fridge. Easy to drive and get around small towns. Bed is very comfy and super clean. Communication with the owners was simple with quick responses. Very easy hand over and only 10 minutes from airport.

    My partner and I loved our time with Otto. Michaela and Jim were so super friendly and checked in with us on the road trip making sure everything was going smoothly. Definitely recommend them and their van.
