  We had three weeks travelling around the North Island, however, after day 5 the alternator broke and we lost 3 days of our holiday. John was very good during this time and in touch with us continually. The motorhome is quite old and does rattle and shake a bit but we got use it and learnt all its idiosyncrasies. It served us well for the time we hired it.

  We recently had a EXTREMELY disappointing experience with the Captain Jack Sparrow van rental from John through Camplify. The vehicle was extremely old, worn, and dirty, with several broken non working features. Due to its age it had no cruise control, van stereo was with CDs and TV/CD player worked for half a movie then got stuck. There was not enough knives or plates and we had to buy things to stock the kitchen. The room divider was a plastic shower curtain in a rod that kept falling down. The external compartment locks are so old/rusty and had clearly been repaired/ patched up numerous times. When we brought these issues to the owner's attention, he was dismissive, stating 'what you see is what you get.' There is NO WAY that this van could sleep 4 people The two spares seats are so uncomfortable and they have been patched up with bits of foam. We were surprised by Johns response, especially considering he drives a brand new Lexus. It's clear that he doesn't prioritize maintaining his rental van. We were surprised that this van was considered roadworthy- steer clear of this one folks !

  Thank you for your feedback. Regarding the sleeping capacity, the claim that the van cannot fit four people is a significant inaccuracy. The vehicle is designed to sleep four, featuring a queen-size pull-out bed and a double bunk above the cab. Regarding the entertainment system, the issue was caused by a heavily scratched CD being inserted, which jammed the player; we have since cleared the unit. As for cleanliness, the van is meticulously cleaned and spotless for every handover, and it is disappointing to see this mischaracterized given the condition in which the vehicle was returned. We thoroughly inspected the seats following your comments and found no issues with comfort or quality; they remain in good, standard condition. While there were enough knives and forks provided, I have restocked the kitchen anyway. I have also replaced the external locks and the room divider rod. As a 2010 model, this vehicle does not feature cruise control, as that was not standard for its year. We prioritize ensuring the van remains fully roadworthy and safe, and its features are accurately described in the listing so guests know exactly what to expect.

  We had a great time in the van and overall dont have any complaints with the van itself its very reliable. We travelled over 5000 KM over both islands through pretty rough roads and never once had an issue, so if your looking for reliability this is your best choice it also has plenty of space for 2 people and even a family with kids would be more than enough space. The only criticism I have is that when we picked the van up it had not been cleaned properly the floor, surfaces, kitchenware was dirty and dusty and the bedding had not been washed, just that little extra thing wouldve made it 10/10, just needed a clean. But loved Captain Jack Sparrow and some unforgettable memories have been made :)

  We had a great 2 months in this van. It had everything we needed and was a perfect size for the two of us. John was always there should we have any questions. Overall, we had a great experience.

  We had a great experience with renting motorbike from John. Very good communication, everything explained well, motorhome had everything that was needed to have perfect holidays. Highly recommended :-)
