Meet Onyx Onyx is my Toyota HiAce. It’s a simple, comfortable van set up for getting out and exploring. It’s based in Queenstown, really close to the airport, so you can land and get on the road pretty quick. There’s plenty of space for gear and roof racks up top, so whether you’ve got boards, bikes or skis, you’ll be fine. Inside it’s warm and practical. It’s insulated with sheep wool to keep it cozy those cold nights, has blackout curtains, and a proper memory foam bed that stays set up the whole time. No need to convert anything every day. Inside Fixed double bed with a queen duvet, extra blankets and cushions Insulated, so it holds heat well at night Blinds/curtains for privacy Heaps of storage space for bags and gear Cooking & Setup Double gas burner Pots, pans, utensils and cutlery Basics like tea, coffee, oil, salt and pepper Sink with 20L fresh water 12V fridge (25L) Solar + second battery USB charging and lights I’ve worked very hard on all the details so you don’t have to think about anything, just park up and you’re sorted. Extras Towels if you need them Folding chairs and a table Driving Easy to drive, it’s automatic and has a reverse camera plus front mirrors which actually help a lot when parking. The head unit’s in Japanese, but you can still play music easy with an aux or just use the radio. Please look after it No smoking inside No dogs Best two people.
