Just you, the road, and the freedom to explore New Zealand your way. With the colder nights ahead, Earnie is ready for anything. With the mindset of "heat the person, not the space" the onboard electric blanket, additional battery system and extra blankets will keep you warm and toastie, and allows you to wake up in a winter paradise. Designed and built by a van lifer, everything is easy, accessible, and hassle free. With the whole van planned around the ability to wake up in a beautiful place, and make a great barista Flat White to start the morning off right. Full sized Double Bed, with a very comfortable custom mattress and topper, that converts to a seating area for those rainy days. Freedom to explore, and get off the beaten track, with the ability to (following the rules) freedom camp all over New Zealand, with the comfort and knowledge that we are here to support you through your journey, and offer advice on where to go and what to do. Please note that we are happy with a little stretching of the Camplify rules, and want you to have an awesome adventures, but Camplify rules do not allow for "off roading". The insurance doesn't cover long distances up unsealed (gravel) roads. Rental includes Barista Coffee Machine, 200w Solar and Battery unit, Fridge, Table, Chairs, Cookware, and a basic pantry of herbs, spices and sauces. No daily kilometre limit, so you have the freedom to explore new Zealand at your pace!

Hiring rules

  • If an accident occurs, get off the road, stay safe, call Camplify on 1300 416 133. They will then call the NRMA (24/7 Roadside Assistance).
  • If any engine lights come on the dashboard, pull over immediately. Call Camplify on 1300 416 133. They will then call the NRMA (24/7 Roadside Assistance). Then call us!
  • Minor damage here and there is an unfortunate reality of life on the road. We get it, things happen. If damage happens, please report it to us immediately. Who, what, where and when will be required if we have to make an insurance claim, or for smaller costs, we can work something out.
  • Offroading is not permitted.
  • Short stretches of unsealed roads to access a campsite (as per camplify's rules) is permitted.
  • Beach Driving (although fun) is not permitted
  • Not insured to travel to many of the ski field access roads. NO chains to be fitted to vehicle
  • NO SMOKING inside
  • All rentals are Full to Full, so please return with a full tank of PETROL
  • We have a clean the van for me option, so you can focus on the adventure, and we will do the cleaning for you on your return. If you opt to clean the van yourself, we do not expect perfection, but we do expect a reasonable level of cleanliness. We will provided basic cleaning equipment and there is a pay per minute car wash on Glenda Drive (5 mins from drop off location). Excessive cleaning required on the return with incur an additional cleaning fee.
  • Toilet, if used, must be emptied and cleaned. Toilet chemicals are supplied, and will need to be added before use. A fee of $200.00 will be charged for failure to return the toilet clean.
  • A good music playlist is required for all bookings.
  • Fun is not optional, as per New Zealand Road Trip laws.
  • Hirer must be 21 years of age or older.

Cancellations

Flexible

  • Cancel earlier than 10 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
  • Cancel between 4 and 10 days before the start of the booking and receive 90% credit. Booking fees will not be credited.
  • Cancellations less than 4 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.

    Earnie was truly amazing for our Queenstown van vacation. Everything was truly well thought out by Jono and Ben. We especially enjoyed the coffee machine. Queenstown gets really cold but they had us sorted with good linen too. Great communication and made everything seamless. Thanks guys!

    We had an amazing time across NZ with Earnie! The van worked impeccably and had everything we needed in a tinier format than most other campervans. We cooked every night and had no trouble using all the equipment onboard. Jono and Ben were great hosts, very accommodating, and excellent with communication. They even shared recommendations of sites and trails to hike- thanks guys! We will miss Earnie dearly!

    We had an amazing 8 nights with Earnie! The van has an efficient set up with everything you need. The solar kept our devices charged and the fridge going for our whole journey, even with a couple of rainy days. We stayed at a combination of freedom camping spots, doc sites and serviced campgrounds around Fiordland and the West Coast. The bed is comfy with good quality (warm!) duvet and pillows. Window covers kept it nice and dark for sleep ins, too. Jonos communication was great, pick up and drop off was very easy. Theyre located very close to QT airport. We are already looking forward to our next Van adventure and highly recommend Earnie!

    Thanks guys for sharing your amazing van with us. It was perfectly set up and very comfortableto drive and sleep in it. This van has everything you need. My friend and I had an ripper of a time to travel with Earnie around NZ.
