After spending years travelling NZ by campervan, we’ve learned what makes a great journey. That’s why we started OLI CAMPERS—where we turn everyday vans into cozy, functional homes on wheels. Joy is one of our creations, crafted to help you enjoy the freedom of the road. Why Joy? Joy is certified self-contained for two under the latest regulations, so you’re all set for those scenic freedom camping spots. Inside, you’ll find: A double bed that converts into a seating area with a table, perfect for meals, work, or relaxing. Kitchen with a sink, gas cooker, fridge, and all the basics for cooking. USB chargers, a power inverter for your devices, and a solar panel to keep you powered up. Pick-up and Drop-off Options We offer flexible options to get you on the road: Free pick-up and drop-off at Hamilton bus terminal or airport. Auckland Airport service is available — fee applies. Hiring rules

  • Fuel: The campervan must be returned with a full tank of fuel.
  • Tolls: While toll roads are few in New Zealand, you are responsible for paying any that you use. You can easily make payments online.
  • Traffic Fines: We hope you don’t get any tickets, but if you do, please make sure to pay them promptly.
  • Smoking is prohibited inside the campervan
  • PostTrip Campervan Cleaning and Return Information
  • We know that cleaning a campervan after a long trip is no one’s favorite task! If you’d rather leave it to us, we can handle the cleaning for you at an extra cost. But if you’re up for it, here are some key cleaning tips to help you out:
  • General Cleanliness
  • Interior Cleaning: Please return the campervan with a clean interior. This includes wiping down all surfaces, cleaning countertops, sweeping/vacuuming the floors, and making sure the space is free from dirt and debris.
  • Exterior Cleaning: We’ll take care of washing the exterior for you. However, if the campervan is returned excessively dirty (mud, dust, etc.), an additional cleaning fee may apply.
  • IMPORTANT: If you choose to wash the exterior yourself, please avoid using automatic car washes, as they can damage the solar panel.
  • Kitchen Area
  • Stove: The stove should be cleaned after use. Please wipe away any spills or food residue and ensure all utensils, pots, and pans are washed and returned to their proper places.
  • Fridge: Be sure to empty and wipe down the fridge before returning the campervan.
  • Toilet Cleaning: The toilet cassette must be emptied and cleaned prior to dropoff.
  • Hirer must be 25 years of age or older.

Cancellations

Strict

  • Cancel earlier than 45 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
  • Cancel between 45 and 20 days before the start of booking and receive a 90% credit. Booking fees will not be credited.
  • Cancellations less than 20 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.

    Driving around New Zealand for 5 weeks with Joy was really quite lovely and exactly what we were hoping for. The car is the perfect size and well equipped, drives great and looks great. We really appreciate the thought that went into the design of the van. Bernie and Reni are really kind people and we can recommend anyone traveling across NZ for a few weeks, to pick Joy! Thanks again for the great experience!

    It was our first time in NZ and we couldnt ask for more with Joy. The van was in a very good shape, all the equipment was top notch and we had no problems whatsoever. Bernie and Reni were so warm, accommodating and flexible. Genuinely the best hosts for a campervan in NZ. Dont go Juicy or Spaceships , go Oli Campers!

    The van was dirty when we received it. Once we cleaned it, the van was really cool to drive and efficient to stay in the different campsite. Bernie is really a person you can rely on! Really nice and helpful.
