Meet Starsie – Your Home on Wheels for Exploring New Zealand Discover Aotearoa with Starsie, our 2019 Fiat Ducato Roller Team 259 motorhome designed for travellers who love freedom without giving up comfort. This fully self-contained 4-berth motorhome is ideal for couples, friends, or families eager to explore New Zealand at their own pace. At just under 7 metres long — with cruise control and a reversing camera — Starsie is effortless to drive and easy to park. She's fuel-efficient for her size, in excellent condition, and ready to take you on your next adventure. Inside, you’ll find a bright, modern, and surprisingly spacious living area with everything you need for a relaxing journey. The layout features a comfortable French bed at the rear and an electric drop-down double bed — so there’s no need to pack up or remake beds each night. There is also handy storage accessible from both inside and outside, ideal for some extra equipment or personal belongings. The fully equipped kitchen includes a gas hob, oven, and a 110L solar-powered fridge with a freezer that runs 24/7, keeping your food fresh all day long. You’ll also enjoy a separate toilet and hot shower, while the gas/electric heating system keeps things warm and cozy even on cooler nights. Starsie comes with thoughtful extras to make your trip comfortable — camping chairs and a table, fresh linens and towels, a stocked basic pantry, and plenty of storage. Double-glazed windows, blackout blinds, and insect screens ensure peaceful nights wherever you park. There’s even a two-bike rack for your outdoor adventures (not suitable for e-bikes). For those who’d like extra off-grid power, you can add our EcoFlow River 2 portable power station — perfect for charging devices or running a CPAP machine overnight. Based in sunny Nelson, we’re happy to pick you up from Nelson Airport to make your start completely hassle-free. If needed, we can also store your suitcases or extra luggage so you can enjoy the full comfort and space Starsie provides. For locals, we’re happy to arrange a convenient handover location. Whether you’re chasing sunsets by the beach or waking up to mountain views, Starsie makes every part of your journey easy, comfortable, and full of freedom. *Optional Add-On EcoFlow River 2 Portable Power Station ($60.00 per trip) The EcoFlow River 2 is a compact, high-quality power station perfect for charging cameras, and laptops when away from powered sites — or for those needing reliable power for a CPAP machine overnight. (Not suitable for high-power appliances such as kettles, toasters, or hairdryers.)

Hiring rules

  • No offroad driving / No beach driving / No Extended Gravel Roads / No Ski field access roads. There is no insurance coverage in these areas.
  • Driving on unsealed roads more than 2 kilometers must be preapproved in writing (in Camplify Messages) before the trip begins.
  • Cannot be driven on Skipper's Canyon Rd and Dansey's Pass.
  • No smoking or Vaping inside.
  • No Pets.
  • No Festivals.
  • No gutting of fish inside the vehicle.
  • All Hirers must be 25+ years old and hold a full drivers license with no restrictions.
  • Must be returned clean with an empty toilet cassette and empty waste water tank or you’ll risk a cleaning fee.
  • Any damage must be reported immediately – who, what, where and when will be required.
  • Pull over immediately if any engine lights come on. If an accident occurs, get off the road, stay safe and call Camplify on 03 668 1211 – they will advise on how to contact roadside assistance. Then call me!
  • Fuel must be returned full of diesel. All hires depart with a full tank.
  • Gas bottle to be returned full – refill from petrol stations and keep the receipt.
  • Payment of a deposit is required within 72hrs of your booking being approved, otherwise I may cancel it.
  • Diesel Vehicle RUC Charges are additional to the daily hire rate and charged at 0.09c per km ($9.00 per 100km). The cost is calculated on return and payable by cash or via the camplify.
  • Hirer must be 25 years of age or older.

Cancellations

Strict

  • Cancel earlier than 45 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
  • Cancel between 45 and 20 days before the start of booking and receive a 90% credit. Booking fees will not be credited.
  • Cancellations less than 20 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.

    We can wholeheartedly recommend Starsie to anyone looking for a modern, reliable motorhome for exploring the country. The owners, Tyna and Seb, are incredibly kind, easy to communicate with, and quick to answer any questions. We rented Starsie for a three-week round trip around the South Island, and it was a fantastic experience. The motorhome had everything we neededhot shower, well-equipped kitchen, and plenty of comfortable space for three adults and a baby. Were very happy with our choice and would definitely rent Starsie again for our next adventure.
