If you are two people looking for a campervan in New Zealand, stop right here. You have found your perfect campervan. From the moment we set off, this van felt special. Every time we pulled into a campsite, we quietly thought to ourselves that we had the best setup there. It is a Jayco Conquest, automatic, beautifully maintained, and designed perfectly for two people. The standout feature is the expandable side wall. Once parked up, the living space opens out, increases and transforms the interior. It creates an airy, generous living area that makes a huge difference, especially on longer stays or rainy evenings. It never felt cramped. The bed is a proper queen size and genuinely comfortable. Im 2M tall and no problem. We slept incredibly well throughout the trip. The seating area is spacious and inviting, perfect for relaxed breakfasts and long dinners cooked inside on the gas hob. The full size fridge freezer is excellent. We did big grocery shops and never once struggled for space. There was always room for fresh food, frozen items, and ice. Storage throughout the van is thoughtful and plentiful, with space for clothes, food, and all the extra bits that accumulate during a three week adventure. Another brilliant feature is the sound system. There are speakers inside and outside, easily connected via Bluetooth, so whether we were cooking, relaxing under the awning, or sitting outside at sunset, we always had the perfect soundtrack. Driving her is a pleasure. Smooth automatic transmission, clear visibility, and excellent mirrors and reversing camera support make manoeuvring a the vehicle feel surprisingly easy. With solar panels, generous water capacity, heating, shower and toilet, and even satellite TV, you can comfortably stay off grid for days without any concern . We did exactly that and never felt restricted. And then there are the owners. They were exceptional. Phil spent real time walking us through every feature so we felt completely confident from day one. The van had thoughtful additions like rice, flour, cleaning products, and Jackies incredible homemade granola. They even arranged pick up and drop off, making the start and end of the trip seamless. By the time we returned the van, it felt like saying goodbye to friends. New Zealand itself is breathtaking, and travelling around it in this camper made the experience even more special. We genuinely did not want the trip to end, and a big part of that was this vehicle and the people behind it. Ten out of ten. Absolutely faultless. Book it.

Five out of five! Jackie and Phil are absolutely fantastic owners, and Maverick was the perfect choice for our two-week honeymoon around the South Island. From the moment we picked it up, it was clear how much care and thought they put into every detail. The personal touches really made Maverick feel like a true home from home it genuinely had everything we could possibly need and more (the Weber BBQ, Nespresso machine, mosquito nets on windows were brilliant/essential extras!). Some highlights were the incredibly comfortable, spacious bed, the hot and powerful shower, and the large fridge that stayed reliably cold throughout our trip (great for the beers). We initially had two concerns the size (at 8 metres) and whether off-grid camping would be easy but both disappeared quickly. NZs roads are perfectly suited to Maverick, and it turned out to be ideal for travelling off-grid. Jackie and Phil gave us an excellent handover and provided a really helpful manual and checklist, which made everything stress-free once we got on the road. Choosing Maverick instead of a rental company was one of the best decisions we made for our honeymoon. We wouldnt hesitate to rent from Jackie and Phil again.

We had the most fantastic holiday in Maverick and could not recommend it more. Despite not having used a large campervan before, it was so easy! Not only is the camper extremely comfortable in all weather conditions -from cold Mount Cook to the warmth of the west coast- its great to drive! We drove Maverick around much of the South Island for ~2 weeks and felt the camper matched our needs perfectly. Plenty of internal/fridge storage and doesnt have that cramped van feeling. The full size queen bed is so comfortable and a real luxury on the road, as is the spacious bathroom. Maverick allowed us to enjoy New Zealands natural beauty in style and comfort. Phil and Julie are the most fantastic hosts and they have thought of everything from card games to tea/coffee/linen and even heat packs for any cold nights. They were readily contactable if needed and only too happy to help. Thanks again Phil and Julie - we will certainly be hiring again in the future!

This has been the best holiday to date! Phil and Jackie were fantastic hostsextremely friendly and accommodating. Maverick, the campervan, was spacious, clean, and provided a hassle-free travel experience; it truly felt like home. What you see in the pictures is exactly what you get. We are thrilled that we chose Maverick and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a motorhome for their holiday. We had the time of our lives, and a huge thank you goes to Phil and Jackie!

Thought we would give a his and hers review of our experience.. Hers: I felt like I had luxury on wheels, everything I could have needed/wanted was thought of. I was surprised at how spacious it was and the bed was so comfy. I also appreciated the communication, this was my first time using Camplify (also in another country) I had lots of questions before our trip, everything was answered and I felt the whole process was smooth and easy for me. His: The Maverick Camper is in a league of its own when it comes to on-road facilities at an affordable price. I genuinely cant fault this camperand Ive seen a lot of them. Phil and Jackie are old-school with their service, and it shows. Theyve set the van up properly, like they were getting it ready for someone in their own family. Everythings where it should be, everything works, and theyve thought of all the small stuff people usually forget plates, cups, cutlery, all of it. Theres plenty of storage and lighting, the shower and toilet setup is easy, airflow is good if you want it, and when its all shut at night its surprisingly quiet. Honestly, I cant fault it. If you want something solid and ready to go, this one ticks the boxes. I dont hand out 10/10 ratings often, but this one definitely deserves it. Phil and Jackie have nailed it.
