Black Dubby

Black Dubby is like the iconic VW combi vans you may have grown up with. It is a brand-new professional conversion on a 2017 van. Black Dubby is fitted with a pop top roof, with a comfy memory foam mattress atop a sprung bed base. The pop top has ventilation on each side and a large front window. AND it fully zips open so you can choose to lay in bed on a warm night looking up at the stars. During the day the roof bed pushes up against the roof, giving ample headroom to stand in the van. Black Dubby is a comfortable, modern Automatic van. It drives very much like a car, with enough power for the many hills here in NZ. And it sleeps two adults comfortably in the pop top roof. Downstairs the squabs can be laid out so a tall person can sleep on an angel, or perfect for 1 or 2 children A large lithium battery will give you plenty of power for your creature comforts, and coupled to a 2000w inverter, it powers the induction hob and any laptops, e-bikes or other 240v appliances you want to take. The battery recharges while you’re driving and via a solar panel on the roof, so you won’t run out. Fresh water is stored in tanks under the van, giving you plenty of water capacity for off-grid exploring – did I mention the outside shower? Perfect to hose yourself (or your gear)down after a hot day out. The kitchen pod contains a slide-out bench, allowing you to cook outside. If it’s cold, cook and eat inside using the inside table. There is plenty of storage for your provisions. The fridge has an ice box, so after a hard day you can come home to a cold beer and and some ice cream. The LED lights in the roof give the evenings some internal atmosphere if you’re just chilling, watching a movie or reading in bed. The pop top has its own light and a handy reading lamp with USB plug in. NZ can be cold at night, but the onboard diesel heater will keep you toasty and warm. All the windows are tinted for privacy, with good blackout curtains if you need a lie-in. We dont charge for all the extras that other do, your going away in a camper van so you will need outside table and chairs etc, The van comes with all your kitchen essentials - basic pots, crockery, cutlery, coffee pot, hand and dish towels. Table and chairs are included for al fresco dining and all the basics for a comfortable journey, we can include bedding for a small fee if you need that too. (pillows duvet, sheets) It is certified to the latest Self containment requirements so your all good for freedom camping. Being a smaller van storing suitcases wouldn’t be very practical, but we can store those for you and loan you some smaller packing bags which will make things easy.
