Billy the goat (also known as Billy) is a much loved member of our family. We (mum, dad and 2 kids) have created many memories with Billy travelling the length and breadth of New Zealand. Billy is ideal if you want an easy to drive (and park) campervan that can comfortably accommodate 3 adults, or 2 adults and 2 kids. The top double bed has a weight limit of 100kg in total. Billy has 5 certified seatbelts with the middle front seat belt being a lap belt. The house battery runs the fridge and lighting, and the cooktop is gas. Plugging into power enables the microwave and power points to work. Billy is not certified as self contained but comes with a portable toilet and chemicals for convenience. Being a Hiace 3.0L diesel turbo means that Billy has enough power to travel safely and reliably around the country. Billy the goat is our home away from home. Please note that Auckland Airport pickup and drop off can be arranged with the owner for an extra charge. We are relatively flexible with pickup and drop off times. These will need to be agreed in advance of the hire with the owner.

* The bottom double bed is 1.9m x 1.2m * The above cab double bed is 2.0m x 1.37m * We have extra mattress overlays to make the beds more comfy. Linen includes sheets, duvets, throws and pillows. * An Auckland airport pickup is available for an extra charge * A handbook for the van will be made available to hirers prior to the rental period. This contains instructions for the use of the van.

Hiring rules

  • EMERGENCY: If you have any concerns, an engine warning light appears or an accident occurs, please pull over and call the owner for assistance asap once all occupants are safe. Hirers can call 03 668 1211, Option 4 for roadside assistance.
  • For all written communication between hirers and owners, please use the Camplify App.
  • General rules:
  • * No smoking or vaping inside the RV.
  • * No offroad/beach driving/extended unsealed roads (over 7km).
  • * Pets allowed only upon application.
  • * RV must be returned tidy or a cleaning fee may be applied. Cleaning supplies are provided in the Van.
  • * Return the vehicle with a full tank of fuel (Diesel only).
  • * Gas is included in the hire.
  • * Please no smelly or very spicy foods to be cooked in the van.
  • * There are no restrictions on travel distance, or distance from base.
  • Please note that Road user charges apply to all diesel vehicles (9c/km).
  • Hirer must be 25 years of age or older.

Cancellations

Flexible

  • Cancel earlier than 10 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
  • Cancel between 4 and 10 days before the start of the booking and receive 90% credit. Booking fees will not be credited.
  • Cancellations less than 4 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.

    Billy the Goat was absolutely fantastic! We had the best trip ever and had everything we needed with the camper. Dennis was fantastic to deal with. We don't know how we're going to beat this trip!!

    We had a wonderful 9 day trip round Northland in Billy. The van was great for two people and very well equipped. Dennis and Fleur seem to have thought of everything. The mattress topper and linen pack made the bed super comfy. Communication and the guide were excellent. Thank you Dennis and Fleur!

    Nous avons passé un super séjour avec Billy ! Le van est juste parfait, très bien équipé et facile à conduire. Dennis et Fleur sont très réactifs et arrangeants et nous ont donné toutes les infos nécessaires. En bref un super petit camion à louer sans hésiter !

I am part of a happy go lucky family that enjoys time together. We are very fortunate to live in a country full of beautiful scenery only a short drive away. And van trips are a great way for us to get amongst it!
