4wd Pearl is a an off-grid campervan which is the perfect choice for your south island adventure. Pearls layout has been professionally built by a carpenter with an indoor kitchen and queen bed that folds into two couches and a table in the middle. There is a large solar panel on the roof to keep the inverter fridge running and electronic devices charged for your epic south island adventure. The van is powered by a diesel engine so keeps fuel running costs low compared to a petrol van. Green sticker self contained Free Christchurch airport pickup/drop off is available and included in the service fee

Road User Charges are additional to your daily set rate and charged at 0.09c per km travelled as diesel will appear cheaper at the pump then petrol but diesel sold in new zealand is exclusive of road user tax Fuel – return filled with diesel. Cancellations

Flexible

  • Cancel earlier than 10 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
  • Cancel between 4 and 10 days before the start of the booking and receive 90% credit. Booking fees will not be credited.
  • Cancellations less than 4 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.

    Great to have a 4wd van for exploring the Canterbury ski fields. Good and clear communications from Campbell. The van is an older Hiace, manual gearbox, a little beaten up, thin squished mattress, lots of extras like camp chairs, a solar panel powering lights and USB chargers. Overall would repeat.

    I spent two weeks in the South Island in the van, and it didnt skip a beat! Though Campbell was at the ready for any help needed.

    Overall me and my partner had an amazing trip in the van despite a couple minor issues. Campbell was great, he had great communication and did what ever he could to fix the issues. I would recommend this vehicle to others but I suggest the van gets some minor maintenance done on it.
