Welcome to Vanessa! Are you ready for a van life experience in NZ like no other? You will be driving and living in the mansion of campervans, with all you need to get the best of your adventures around the country. As soon as you step foot in Vanessa, you will be 'wowed' by the vast space inside and the ability to stand up comfortably around the cabin and a full length mirror to make sure you’re looking as fabulous as Vanessa! How to van life in Vanessa: - She is smooth to drive with a 5 speed manual gearbox, with plenty of windows for better visibility of Aotearoa's stunning scenery. So drive safe and always take the scenic road ;) - Parking and setting your camping spot will be easy. Vanessa is not too big and not too small. She's the perfect size. She has two sliding doors, one has a makeshift ladder if you need to strap anything to the roof (surfboard/paddle board/kayak). The other sliding door which is the entrance has a step where you can wipe your feet and a bath matt to keep the cabin clean from the outside muck! - Sleeping. Change Vanessa's set up from a U-shaped sofa to a spacious queen-sized bed effortlessly in minutes. Just detach the mounted pole from the table, unfold the table and fit into the designated space. Pop the back support cushions in the middle, put a sheet over the cushions and voila! With tinted back windows and curtains all round you can have full privacy. Feel free to use the LED (fire safe) candles when its time to set the mood! She will come with a Queen-sized duvet and Pillows, but feel free to bring your own linen. - Cooking time, open the passenger side front door look under the seat and you will find yourself a grey-looking gas bottle.. Twist this to open and close the flow of gas to the hobs. PLEASE SET A REMINDER when cooking to remember to turn this gas off for you own safety. Open up where the sink is push down on the gas hobs and press the lighter at the same time to let there be light! (Please note that for the lighter to work the fridge switch needs to be turned on). For your convenience, you can cook from the inside with the hobs or outside with the portable BBQ provided. Make use of the folding trays which provide extra kitchen top space or a place to put the BBQ when the sliding doors are open. - Chilling time, Vanessa feels huge inside with plenty of space on the U-shaped sofa around the table. Eat dinners, Play cards and boardgames or host your friends for some beers! - Storage, Vanessa comes with heaps of storage with 4 separate areas under the sofa cushions, 4 overhead cupboards to store clothes and dry food items and one big cupboard to store bedding when you are wanting to change the set up inside! - Shower & Toilet, make the most of using the lavatory in private with your very own shower and toilet compartment onboard. Treat yourself to a hot shower after hopping in the ocean or cold lake (fan and lights for the shower room can be switched on by the "Deckwash" switch and find an adjustable temperature gage on the drivers side sliding door). Please note that using the shower drains the stored water and fills the grey water tank QUICKLY so be prepared to refill and drain the grey water soon after using the shower. Furthermore, make the most of public loo facilities if possible as no one enjoys the task of emptying the waste at a dump station! If needing to use the loo, pull the lever do you business and press the grey button on the right to pump liquid toilet cleaner (which can be filled in the tube found in the drivers side sliding door are). - Find a set of camping chairs and a portable metal camping table stored behind the back doors of the van. - Please let me know if you have any questions in advance :) - Enjoy a taster of van life and I hope you have the trip of a lifetime! Hiring rules

BEDDING MUST be put on cushions when sleeping
CLEANING Please return Vanessa cleaned using the cleaning products provided in the back of the van or risk a cleaning fee!
EMERGENCY If any engine lights come on the dashboard, pull over immediately. If an accident occurs, get off the road, stay safe, call Camplify on 1300 416 133 they call someone to help. Then call us.
DAMAGE If any damage happens, please report it immediately We need to know who, what, where and when.
No OFFROAD / No UNSEALED roads and No BEACH adventures please.
LONG TRIPS Hirers are welcome to travel in Vanessa up to 150km's per day. (This will be averaged out over the duration of hire Example: 5 days hire 5 x 150km Allowance) After this limit is reached, extra km's are absolutely fine but they will be chargeable. Camplify will facilitate a charge of 60c per kilometre over the allocated allowance based on the start and end odometer readings and this will be paid for through your bond after the completion of the trip. Please be conscious that Vanessa is a diesel vehicle and therefore subject to road user charges, so it would be fair that $0.09 per kilometre driven is paid by you as a guest to help cover this. (Payable by Cash or Camplify Will deduct on completion of the hire.)
FUEL Please return Vanessa full of DIESEL All hires include a full tank upon departure.
SHOWER There is a shower onboard. Make sure to use the supplied squidgy to help drain the water through the grey water hole.
CLEANING AND RETURN Return Vanessa with all the onboard equipment and the Van as clean as when you received it. Please be considerate and bring it back with a full tank of Diesel.
POWER Please keep in mind that in order to use the plugs onboard you will need to be plugged in at a powered campsite and be conscious that the fridge and USB ports are powered by the battery in the cabin which recharges its self each time you drive, so if you are parked up for two days or more the fridge will stop and your food will warm! If this happens when camping run the engine to recharge the second battery.
COOKING GAS refilled from petrol stations. If using the portable BBQ gas canisters please replenish the amount of cans that you use!
NO SMOKING is allowed inside.
No Festivals, Party's or Bush Doofs

Hire Fee: From $220.00 per day

Cancellations

Strict

Cancel earlier than 45 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
Cancel between 45 and 20 days before the start of booking and receive a 90% credit. Booking fees will not be credited.
Cancellations less than 20 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.

Absolutely loved our trip in Vanessa, was the perfect way to travel around the South Island for 2 weeks - it had everything we needed from a bbq and deck chairs to bedding! Great communication from Luke too!
