Dora the Explorer is CERTIFIED SELF CONTAINED under the new regulations (green card). She is an easy to drive automatic luxury van for 1 or 2, perfect for adventures throughout New Zealand. Her compact size makes her easy to drive and park whilst still providing ample comfort for 2 people. The Sony sound system has a touch screen with Android auto and Apple car play, so there is no need to bring a GPS if you have Google maps on your phone. She has everything you need to make it your home on the road: Basic cutlery and crockery Fully functional sink Cooking equipment (portable gas cooker, pan, stove top kettle, spatula, chopping board) Pantry basics like tea and coffee Some cleaning equipment llike a brush and pan, dish cloth, soap, sponge 25 litre fresh water tank 25 litre grey water tank 2 Camp chairs Removable dining table. Bedding sheet, comforter, 2 pillows with pillow cases and 2 towels. Quick and easy to convert double bed (within seconds) Certified Self Contained Toilet A Dual battery system runs the fridge and also has USB chargers for your phones or drones. For low powered items like laptops, there is a 1000w Inverter. The batteries are charged while driving, together with a solar panel to help keep it charged while camping.

Hiring rules

No offroad driving / or beach driving. Gravel roads okay but take care. Please avoid multi story parking lots
Fuel – return filled with unleaded (91) fuel . All hires include a full tank upon departure
If toilet has been used, it must be emptied at council dumping station and cleaned before return.
Please Check local rules for Freedom Camping. You will be liable to pay any fines that are incurred.
Strictly no smoking or vaping allowed inside.

Hirer must be 21 years of age or older.

Pricing

Hire Fee: From $110.00 per day
Service fee: $90.00

Cancellations

Strict

Cancel earlier than 45 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
Cancel between 45 and 20 days before the start of booking and receive a 90% credit. Booking fees will not be credited.
Cancellations less than 20 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.

Dora was grand (i miss her) I travelled by myself and dont think i could have done it with another person. It was perfect for just me! However im no light packer and im 6ft tall so that definitely didnt help the situation. Noel was super chill and helpful with any qualms or off the cuff texts i sent. Would recommend for sure!

We loved Dora and would rent her again without hesitation. Everything was perfect. Really comfortable van, spacious for two and very nice to drive. Really well equipped and stylishly furnished.

No problems occurred during the trip. The facilities are well equipped. I never felt inconvenienced. Most importantly, Mr. Noel was quick to respond and very helpful. I would rent from him again.

Dora The Explorer is a perfect vessel for a 2 person adventure. We spent 11 days/10 nights in the van traversing the South Island and found the van more than spacious and well equipped enough to do a few more days if we had time. The main benefit to Dora in my opinion is it's normal size as a vehicle. It was so easy to drive, park, maneuver, etc. The campgrounds in NZ are so well equipped (showers, toilets, cooking facilities, etc..).. there is no need for a full kitchen/bathroom in your campervan. Thank you Dora (and Noel!)
