  Deus the 4WD machina -( Toyota hiace - UB6933 - owner Campbell Banks) Trip: 2025 - april Deus the 4WD machine is already in his late granny age with some minor injuries, however he always drove and started reliable and never let us down. He is one of the old style 4WDs where you engage the front axle on it's hubs if you wish to drive 4x4. (it even has an additional auxilary high/low gearset) Please be aware: It's a 92 diesel - the engine is still quite loud inside the cockpit. For the 30+ age: the seats caused us (end of 30th) the most uncomfordable pain when driving longer distances. We seldom drove 100km/h. Our average consumption was 10,97l/100km. All in all we are very greateful towards Campbell for renting out the van resulting in 4 weeks of awesome adventure.

  What a beast of a Van!! We really enjoyed rocking around in " Deus" the 4x4 machina. You can get to a lot of spots other people might hesitate to drive to in this one. It had everything we needed in it but maybe a bit short on storage if you're travelling like us for a longer period with a lot of luggage. Other than that we had an awesome time with Deus! Campbell was really helpful and responded to questions immediately. Can only recommend hiring this old boii from Cambpell.

  We had a great time driving around in the van, it gets a lot of attention. Very spacious and drives great for it's age. We went from Christchurch to Nelson, Westcoast, Greymouth, Wanaka, Queenstown, Milford sounds, Invercargill, lake Pukaki,lake tekapo and back to Christchurch. Very reliable, didn't disappointed us at all The handover/dropping off was smooth. Thank you Campbell.
