This van has green certification to meet the new legislation requirements that start from 7 December 2024 for self containment. It is important to know that you CAN freedom camp with this vehicle before and after this date opening up your options. Definitely not your average camper, Set up and custom made by Overland Campers NZ. This has been well thought out and ready for any adventure New Zealand has to offer. All set up and ready to go just add food and everything else is taken care of. Sleep comfortably inside the camper on a Memory / High density Foam mattress or get adventurous and take advantage of the roof top tent giving that classic Kiwi holiday camping feel. Equipped with Full Kitchen setup including a 36ltr fridge freezer, (burner and fuel supplied), includes all cooking equipment, 240v power, Smart 24” TV, Chemical Toilet, 270 Degree awning, Changing room awning, Table and chairs, Android stereo with Bluetooth, massive batteries enabling “off grid camping indefinitely” Bedding including pillows, duvet and sleeping bags. 4wd capability offering piece of mind getting to those hard to get to spots and challenging rural roads New Zealand is famous for. The vehicle must be returned to the Auckland area with a full tank of gas at the end of your holiday.

Pricing

Hire Fee: From $150.00 per day
Service fee: $30.00
Delivery fee: $0.70 per km

Cancellations

Strict

Cancel earlier than 45 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
Cancel between 45 and 20 days before the start of booking and receive a 90% credit. Booking fees will not be credited.
Cancellations less than 20 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.

This van has everything. It drove really well. It was a bit smaller than I expected but the pop top bed worked, and fellow campers were always impressed with the huge solar panel and awning that swings right around. Really only sleeps one person inside comfortably. We had a great time and it was much better than hiring a van from commercial car rentals. More of a personal touch with everything you need.

Had an amazing trip in this van, made great memories with ease from one town to the other. The two sleeping options were awesome! Rooftop tent for the warmer nights, van bedding for the cold and windier nights. Especially in NZ where the weather is very unpredictable. Kane and Tina were very kind and honest people. Check in and check out process was smooth and easy, this is a great option to reduce any stress from coming off and catching a flight. Thanks for the mems

Kane and Tina were absolutely fantastic van suppliers and overall hosts to their country. They went above and beyond to make our trip more enjoyable. The D5 Overkill is all you need for a trip around NZ. The van is fully equipped and versatile; allowing freedom and comfort to travel and rest where you need. Kane and Tina have thought of all the small touches from a picnic blanket, stove top coffee pot, foldable spade, television with movies, and well organized storage compartments. Once you get into the swing of things youll be at home wherever the van takes you. We hope all future travelers who hire their vans enjoy their trip as much as we did. Credit to Kane and Tina. The Overkill surpassed all hopes and expectations - the van is excellent and allows for so much flexibility on the road. Sleeping under the stars in the tent was fantastic and refreshing or sleeping in the van and sheltering from the rain worked perfectly. Kane was great at communicating and has a fantastic attitude and approach - which put us at ease. He is extremely knowledgeable and Overkill has excellent equipment which worked really well.
