Raymond is a converted school bus and has plenty of room. He is very easy to drive and set up for a lovely stay away from the hustle and bustle of populated areas. Cruises along nicely at 80-90kph. He has a very comfortable double bed to sleep in and pretty much everything is provided to make it easy for you to just bring your own clothes and personal belongings and away you go.

Raymond has been a motorhome conversion project. Comes with a gas hot shower unit and a shower tent. A chemical toilet is fitted internally. Recently passed the self-containment certification. He has a large storage boot area, which has chairs, tables, gazebo, fire starting equipment, water hose and bbq etc in it. Raymond has two large solar panels that are connected to batteries, provides lots of power for freedom camping. I went away in Raymond over the Easter weekend and it took approximately 15 minutes to be all set up and enjoying a refreshing beverage. I want others to enjoy the freedom to explore New Zealand that Ray provides me. Raymond is easy to drive, has a bluetooth compatible stereo system. There is a small TV set up in the bedroom which can be linked to your bluetooth/ chromecast available on request. There is a gazebo which is easy to erect. There is a diesel heater inside Raymond, which keeps him nice and warm... ideal for winter trips. The roof lining inside Raymond has been upgraded and makes him look a bit tidier. He is not a show vehicle, but is a basic and extremely convenient way to get around NZL and stay in remote areas. If you are taller than 175cm, you will not be able to fully stretch out on the double bed. Road User Charge of $9.00 per 100 km will be charged at the end of your hire

Hiring rules

  • No smoking inside the vehicle. Tea, coffee and other consumables will be provided at the start of the hire for the benefit of the user, it is required that these items are restocked before returning the vehicle at the end of the hire.
  • Basic bed linen can be provided if required
  • House trained and clean pets will be allowed.
  • Hirer must be 25 years of age or older.

Cancellations

Strict

  • Cancel earlier than 45 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
  • Cancel between 45 and 20 days before the start of booking and receive a 90% credit. Booking fees will not be credited.
  • Cancellations less than 20 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.
