Our German built Sunlight T68 motorhome is spacious and modern (2018), based on a Fiat Ducato 2.3. Seat belted for 4 people with permanent twin singles (0.8 x 2.1m) down the back in a separate bedroom (which can be closed off for privacy), also complete with a convenient drop down double bed, complete with safety nets (1.95 x 1.4m). The twin singles can be turned into a King double, but note that a short ladder is then required to get into it and access to the two storage areas under the single beds becomes restricted. The drivers & passengers seats swivel to give you a large entertaining lounge/dining area, perfect for the whole family. It has a powerful 130HP turbo diesel engine matched with a 6 speed manual transmission complete with cruise control making driving easy after you adjust to the width of the vehicle. It comes with 4 outdoor chairs, and a Table, all bedding, linen, liquid soap, cookware, tea, instant coffee , sugar, salt and pepper. It has a large full width boot at the rear for storage, measuring 0.95 x 1.05m x full width, an awning and a bike rack. Can be driven on a standard car licence as it is less than 3.5 tonnes on the road and can be driven at 100km/hr. It is stored in a storage facility and your car can take its place during the rental for security if necessary. We are flexible with pickup / drop off times, so long as it between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. If you are flying in I can usually meet you at the airport so long as you can drop me off again, 20 minutes away. The L Shape Kitchen has a 180 litre fridge/freezer, 3 Gas Burner Stove and oven. On one side is the Shower the Toilet is on the other, with a privacy curtain to screen the twin beds. The beds are very comfortable, with slatted bases. We haven't installed a TV yet. It is so peaceful without it. Easy to load movies onto a laptop for nightly entertainment. Solar panel Cruise control LED Lighting throughout. Reverse Cameras (2). 6 speed manual transmission. Cab air conditioning. Air Bags. Fully Insulated. Toasty warm when -10° outside. Skylights. Combi Truma Gas Water and Heating. All windows and skylights have Windows have concertina blinds and Insect blinds. The main door has its own insect screen door. 122 Litres fresh water 95 Litre greywater tank. 18 litre cassette toilet (easy to empty). Length 7.4m, width 2.33m, height 2.9m There will be 2 full 9kg gas bottles, which last about 3 to 4 weeks, depending on the amount of heating required. Note that 240V appliances can only be used when hooked up at a powered campsite. You need to pay the road user charge of $70 per 1,000 kms please. Feel free to ask any questions. Cancellations

Strict

Cancel earlier than 45 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
Cancel between 45 and 20 days before the start of booking and receive a 90% credit. Booking fees will not be credited.
Cancellations less than 20 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.

The van was spacious and comfortable; fully equipped with everything you need for the kitchen and with extras such as torches, tyre pump, batteries, additional bedding and blankets, outdoor chairs and table, revolving clothes dryer with pegs, tourist information brochures and maps, some games and books. The 2.3 diesel engine performed very well and didn't lack power when going over the mountain routes. Although we haven't really calculated this, the fuel consumption seemed quite economical. Richard was very friendly and obliging, offered a 24-hour-phone number in case of emergencies and helped us with pick up and drop off. All in all, we had a wonderful month travelling around the South Island with Bertie and highly recommend this rental.

All went very well; 2000 trouble free kilometers. Very comfortable driving position, for me, as a 193cm tall person. Easy vehicle to drive, once I was used to the size. Great brakes, mirrors and rear camera. Richard was very easy to deal with and both the pick up and handover went seamlessly. Easy to recommend.

My wife and I have just completed a four week trip around the South Island of NZ. We chose a camper van holiday as we wanted a leisurely trip with out any real timetable. We chose Bertie the camper and he was exactly as described on the camplify site. He was fully equipped with all we needed for a month of van life. Its fuel consumption was surprisingly good for a large vehicle and very easy to maintain in regard to grey water etc. Richard, Berties owner, is a very nice person provided an excellent service. He certainly went the extra mile to make sure we were well prepared for our trip and a seemless hand back when we returned. I am happy to recommend Richard and Bertie to anyone who is planning a camper van holiday in New Zealand Ross Robinson

Bertie is awesome. So much so we are thinking of getting one for ourselves. Easy to drive, responsive and manoeuvrable but the best thing is the layout. He has everything you need and more. The engineering is great and Richard has kitted it out perfectly. The ability to close off the bedroom worked great for our teenage girls and the drop down bed was very comfortable for us parents. The fact it was a manual was better to negotiate the hills and bends on our trip around NZ. Definitely a great choice
