Pick up location: The Jacks Point Golf Course Jacks Point, Queenstown 9371 (10 minutes drive from the airport) For timing, please allow enough time to properly show you around Sunny, go through the rooftop tent & awning set up, and complete the Camplify online check-in & verification process. No, freedom camping is not permitted in many places in New Zealand and our vehicles are not self contained (have a toilet). You should only camp in permitted camping areas. These sites include specific freedom camping spots, DOC camping grounds and private camping grounds. These areas will provide different levels of facilities depending on cost. All will provide a toilet. All drivers are required to have a valid driver's licence from his or her respective country. If it is not in English you must also present an International Driving Permit or a suitable translation. Licence must be valid for the entire rental period. We expect to see a licence on pick up in order to rent a Wild Rovers vehicle. We do not accept photocopies or digital scanned copies. Our protection plans cover you for all third party vehicle or property damage. However, like any cover, there are exclusions. Due to Road User Charges on diesel vehicles, you will be charged 9 cents per Kilometre. e.g. If you drive 100 kms, the charges will be $9.00. This will be done via the vehicle's odometer reading at the end of your trip. Road User Charges (RUC) in New Zealand are mandatory distance-based fees for diesel-powered vehicles, intended to contribute to road maintenance. They are calculated based on the total distance traveled during the hire, typically recorded via the vehicle's odometer at pickup and return. All Our Defenders are fitted with GPS Trackers.

Hiring rules

• 1. No offroad driving / beach driving / extended driving on gravel roads.
• 2. Driving on unsealed roads must be preapproved in writing (in Camplify Messages) before the trip begins.
• 3. No smoking inside / no pets OR pets only upon application / no festivals
• 4. Hirer age restrictions 21+
• 5. Awning must be packed away before bad weather arises.
• 6. Vehicle must be returned clean or you’ll risk a cleaning fee of $200.00
• 7. Standard pickup / dropoff times are 10am4pm.
• 8. No cooking inside the car (use barbecue provided).
• 9. No freecamping.
• 10. Any damage must be reported immediately – who, what, where and when will be required.
• 11. Pull over immediately if any engine lights come on. If an accident occurs, get off the road, stay safe and call Camplify on 03 668 1211 – they will advise on how to contact roadside assistance. Then call me!
• 12. Payment of a deposit is required within 48hrs of your booking being approved, otherwise I may cancel it.
• 13. Road user charges are charged per kilometre driven in NZ, $0.09 per km which is billed at the end of the trip.

  Sunny is an absolute beast. Cruising the South Island best hikes over 12 days in Sunny was no where near enough time. I wish I had more time. Sunny did not skip a beat. Sunnys pop tent was ready in a matter of minutes after arrival at any place. He handled hills with ease and some of these hills were very steep in Milford Sound. Cant recommend Sunny as your noble steed on your trip in the South Island. Sunny also has all the bells and whistles needed for comfortable camping on the move.

  We had the best time with Sunny! Andie was so accommodating, and was very quick to respond to any enquiries that we had. We would absolutely recommend booking with Andie and The Wild Rovers. The car was also fully stocked with all of the camping equipment you might need, everything was taken care of. We have the best memories from our time in Queenstown with Sunny.
