Meet “Alfie” — our tidy 2019+ Suzuki Jimny 2-door, tuned for weekend escapes and light overland adventures out of Queenstown. The Jimny’s compact footprint makes it easy to park in town yet rugged enough to access gravel back-roads, alpine valleys and scenic drives that bigger vans can’t. We’ve fitted a roof tent for great nights camping under the stars,a compact 40L portable fridge (12V), a camping kitchen kit (gas stove, cookware, plates & utensils), two folding camp chairs, and fresh linen/towels — everything you need to sleep comfortably and get into the hills quickly. This hire is ideal if you want: a low-stress vehicle for hiking, backcountry lookout drives, an adventurous roof tent experience off grid or a weekend at a DOC campsite. We manage the vehicle from Queenstown, provide a full handover and a local trip briefing with recommended drives and camps. Who this is best for: couples, friends or solo travellers, outdoor enthusiasts who want a compact 4×4 and light camping kit. Vehicle basics: Make / model: Suzuki Jimny (2-door) — 2019 or newer. Drive: 4×4 auto Seats: 4 Fuel: petrol. Licence: full NZ driver’s licence (or equivalent) required; min age 21 (drivers 21–25 subject to young-driver fee). Included with hire: Portable fridge (≈40L) with 12V lead. Compact 2-burner gas stove, small cookware set, plates, mugs, cutlery, kettle. Two folding camp chairs and small camp table. Tow rope, shovel, jumper leads, first-aid kit, fire extinguisher. Basic toolkit, recovery straps (non-rated), and a printed local trip guide + recommended tracks. 24/7 roadside assistance contact details. Hand sanitiser, torch, and a phone charger (dual USB). Extra driver: NZ$8/day. Mileage & fuel policy: Standard: 200 km/day included. Extra km NZ$0.40/km. (Consider unlimited km option at +NZ$25/day.) Vehicle returned with same fuel level as pickup. Cleaning & damage: Cleaning fee: NZ$40 standard; deep-clean fee NZ$150 if vehicle returned excessively dirty/odour. Security deposit: NZ$1,000 hold (refundable if no damage). (You can set this via Camplify; see platform guidance.) Insurance & excess: Standard insurance included through Camplify/host insurance — the renter is responsible for the standard excess (NZ$1,500). Optional excess reduction to NZ$0–NZ$500 available for a daily fee (recommend offering this). (Guests expect clear insurance/excess options). Camplify +1 House rules / road rules: No smoking in the vehicle or rooftop tent. No off-road beyond formed gravel roads & legal 4WD tracks (no river braids, farm-only tracks, or DOC-restricted areas). Pets by request only (small dog + cleaning fee). Return on time — late returns charged at NZ$40/hr (or daily rate if >4 hrs). Handover: Meet at our Queenstown location (or arrange airport pick-up for fee).
