Voxyrocket is certified self-contained (25L tank of water, sink, toilet, solar panel), so you can save money and stay at designated freedom camping sites where allowed. Rules vary by council, and some areas restrict freedom camping entirely, so it’s a good idea to check apps like CamperMate or Rankers before you go. It's not a huge van so it is easy to drive it like you would a bigger car, it will go everywhere you need. You can go short distances on gravel roads, just NOT 4 wheel drive roads, do not underestimate how gnarly these can be in NZ! DOC campsites are widely available across the South Island and usually have a small nightly fee. Holiday parks offer full facilities and are recommended in towns or busy tourist areas. Weather can change quickly, particularly in alpine and coastal regions. Choosing sheltered sites and keeping plans flexible is sensible. Please respect local communities and follow Leave No Trace principles: take all rubbish with you (bins and bags in the van), avoid damaging vegetation, only dump waste water in dedicated areas, keep noise low, and leave campsites as you found them. This helps protect New Zealand’s environment and keeps it enjoyable for everyone.

  Voxyrocket is the best campervan we had so far ! Everything was included. We just had to buy 2 mosquito nets for opening the windows at night but not necessary. It would be nice to add a fridge on battery too since there is a solar panel, but again we managed with a cooling bag. Very nice to drive, thank you !
