Convenient Location & Airport Pick-Up We are just a short flight from Auckland Airport and can arrange to meet you at Taupo, Hamilton, Tauranga, or Rotorua airport. Talk to us about a delivery fee $150.00, and we'll ensure your trip starts smoothly from the moment you land. Bedding, linen, and towels for up to 4 people are all included in the service fee, so you can travel light and enjoy your trip. New! E-Bikes Available for Hire We now offer two brand-new E-Bikes for hire, perfect for exploring the beautiful river trails and rail trails in the area. These bikes are easy to use and come with helmets for your safety and convenience. Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or just looking for a leisurely ride, our E-Bikes will enhance your outdoor adventure. Just a quick note about the RUC Recovery Fee (Road User Charge), which is a government tax on diesel vehicles in New Zealand. Since Roaming Retreat runs on diesel, the RUC is $0.09 per km ($9.00 per 100km), and this will be settled at the end of your hire. When returning the motorhome, we kindly ask that you clear out all rubbish and empty the toilet and grey water tanks. If you’d prefer a quicker drop-off, you can opt for our $300.00 additional cleaning service, and we’ll take care of everything for you. Feel free to leave your personal vehicle with us if needed during your hire.

Hiring rules

• Please allow 45 minutes to complete pick up and drop off procedure.
• No pets allowed inside the motorhome.
• No smoking inside the van or under the awning a deodorization fee of $350.00 will be deducted from bond if returned smelling of smoke.
• Awning must be packed away before bad weather arises
• Motorhome must return clean with toilet cassette and grey water tank emptied.
• If you're looking for a swift dropoff, you can opt for the $300.00 additional cleaning fee, and we'll handle this for you.
• Motorhome to be returned with full tank of diesel and full gas as it was supplied with, otherwise, a refueling fee of NZD $80.00 will apply plus the cost of the fuel. This also applies to the gas bottle.
• Any driving offences/related charges; including but not limited to, parking tickets, speeding tickets, bus lane offences, toll road will need to be paid by hirer, or will be deducted from the bond or transferred to the hirer on return.
• No driving on unsealed roads, noncouncil approved gravel roads, ski field access roads or prohibited NZTA listed roads, beaches or any other land that could be considered unstable, not permitted on Skippers Road (Queenstown), Ball Hutt Road
• Soft Luggage and Bedding Only to be stored inside. No Bikes or Surfboards Inside (Please utilize Storage Areas)
• Ruc charges are $0.09 per kilometer Camplify will deduct on completion of the hire
• EMERGENCY If any engine lights come on the dashboard, pull over immediately. If an accident occurs, get off the road, stay safe, call Camplify on 03 6681211 Then call me!
• DAMAGE If damage happens, you must report it immediately who, what, where and when will be required.
• Pick up and drop off is confirmed between hirer and owner.

  Roaming Retreat was perfect for our family of four. It was a nice size motorhome, very tidy, well kept, well equipped with easy sleeping arrangements. Not only was the motorhome tidy, it felt like it was well maintained, all the systems functioned great. We had everything we needed from kitchen utensils, to comfortable camp chairs & table, and a bbq. Sheryl was a great communicator and went out of her way to make pick up and drop off easy for us. Great way to travel!

  This campervan is amazing. Sheryl is a wonderful owner and has certainly thought of every little detail so that her clients can enjoy a smooth, safe and enjoyable trip. Everything is considered from the indoor camper, flowing to the outdoor living. The camper is a breeze to drive making for a nice experience on the roads. All you need to do is pack your belongings and hit the road. Thank you to Sheryl and her family.
