Long White will be based at Arthurs point, near Shotover Jet. This location is only 15 minutes from the airport via taxi or Uber and also has a regular bus service from central Queenstown. Airport pick-up/drop-off is possible if we are able to accommodate around our own work and is available as an additional extra. WINTER BOOKINGS Long White is well equipped for exploring NZ in the winter months. With a diesel and an electric heater you’ll find that Long White is quite cozy on a winter evening and through the night. You’ll be provided with an electric blanket, extra blankets, and hot water bottles. We recommend camping at paid-campsites in winter so that you can plug Long White in to the mains, making the most of the electric heater and heated blanket. There is a 12v heater that can be used when off-grid, you will just need to be mindful of how long you use it for so it doesn't drain the leisure battery. SKI/SNOWBOARD EQUIPMENT There is no specific ski/snowboard storage in Long White. However, you can utilize the under-bed storage as storage for when you’re on the move – you just need to know that you’ll have to be quite strategic in how you move gear around the camper, and how you store in the bathroom so that it does not cause damage to the walls when you are driving. SKI FIELD ACCESS Long White is not to be driven up ski field access roads. We recommend that you make the most of the transport options provided by any ski fields you are visiting. Long White does not do well on long stretches of gravel roads, especially if they are uphill. We do not want you stuck in a ski field car park in snow/ice/grit.

Hiring rules

• EMERGENCY If any engine lights come on the dashboard, pull over immediately. If an accident occurs, get off the road, stay safe, call Camplify on 0800 779 779
• DAMAGE If damage happens, you must report it immediately who, what, where and when will be required.
• NO SMOKING Inside the vehicle
• NO OFFROAD / NO Beach Driving / NO Extended Gravel Roads (including Omarama Clay Cliffs) / NO Skifield access roads / NO Skippers Canyon Road / NO Festivals
• UNSEALED roads must be preapproved in writing in Camplify Messages before the trip begins. Please be familiar with the exclusions, terms and conditions of the booking.
• RUCs Road User Charges (RUCs) will be charged at the rate of $0.09 per kilometer are payable to the New Zealand Government. The total RUCs will be calculated on the distance travelled during the hire period and will be charged to the hirer on completion of the hire.
• LONG TRIPS Hirers are welcome to take the van up to 200 kilometres a day. This will be averaged out over the duration of hire Example: 5 days hire 5 x 200km Allowance: 1000km for hire permitted in the rate, additional kms will be charged at 40c per km and deducted on completion of the hire.
• FUEL Return full of DIESEL All hires include a full tank upon departure.
• CLEANING Clean the equipment and Van. Excessive cleaning will incur a charge.
• EMPTYING Empty cassette and grey water upon return. If not empty, will incur a charge.
• COOKING GAS Return FULL refilled from petrol stations.

• Hirer must be 21 years of age or older.

  Ed was friendly, very responsive, and overall, great to deal with. We had a fairly smooth and great vacation in the south island. We thought we'd save some money and add some flexibility since we could rent the van less than 7 days. Having said that, the van is quite old and shows it. (It would have helped if the sheets had been freshly washed.) With the added costs of the mileage, the passed on road user charge (which most companies don't charge), and the costs of taking a taxi to and from Ed and Rosie's place, we ended up not really saving much money for a much older van. As much as I'd like to support mom and pop rentals, Ed and Rosie are probably charging too much.

  We had a great time using the van for our holiday adventure, we had unseasonally cold wet weather and it was an amazing haven to retreat to. The van was easy to drive and economical as well
