Driving Sheila is safe and easy, she is equipped with a smooth 4WD automatic transmission, brand-new Android/Apple Carplay Stereo, GPS & reversing camera. - Making parking a breeze. Sheila is kitted out with 2 camp chairs, a table, gas cooker, pots, pans, sink with electric pump and lots of other basics you might need. The double bed is 2m length one side & 1.7m on the other The large solar panel powers a full 12-volt electrical system; powering the lights, charging ports, sink pump & more! Sheila is Self-Contained meaning you can freedom-camp and take advantage of the self-contained only sites. This makes planning your stay easy and you will save on accommodation too. Additional information

Linen bundle includes 2 x towels, hand towel, tea towel, sheets, duvet, pillows and an extra blanket in case it gets chilly. We provide a full tank of fuel on departure, please fill on return.

Hiring rules

Fuel – return filled with unleaded (91) fuel. All hires include a full tank upon departure.
Offroad driving is ok, but no beach driving.
No smoking, vaping or cooking inside the van.
Treat Sheila as if she was yours.
Bring her back in the same condition. If an accident happens, tell me.
If used, please empty and clean toilet before return.
No one way hires, sorry I don't have facilities for relocation.

Hirer must be 21 years of age or older.

Pricing

Hire Fee: From $90.00 per day
Service fee: $100.00

Cancellations

Strict

Cancel earlier than 45 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
Cancel between 45 and 20 days before the start of booking and receive a 90% credit. Booking fees will not be credited.
Cancellations less than 20 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.

Van drives well and very comfortable - that's only the good thing about this listing. However, we didn't had pleasant experience dealing with Darcy. We had issues related to battery system and drop-off location, fridge and Darcy didn't provide any solution. The pots/dishes/cutlery provided were soiled and full of grease. First thing we had to do was to clean them up, and bought fresh set of cutlery. Were asked to not use the portable toilet. Set aside using, the way it's setup you can't use it anyway. Promised fridge wasn't available at the time of pick-up, once raised he did buy that for us. But it wasn't functional during the trip, as battery system didn't work at all. Solution from owner, was to put a bag of ice in fridge to keep the food fresh - really? Vehicle - good Everything else - bad

We really enjoyed our two week vacation in the South Island. Darcys van was the perfect companion. It had just enough space to store our two backpacks and had enough space for all the food. Nice extras were the christmas lights and the two camping chairs. Most vans have the kitchen in the back, while this van has it to the side. That was great because we could park with the back to the nice view and then look outside while lying inside. In general, we never had any problems with anything. Communicating with Darcy was very easy and reliable. We can highly recommend this van.

I couldnt have asked for a more perfect van for my trip around the South Island. Darcy made sure I had everything I needed to be prepared for the trip and provided some great recommendations on whats to do and where to go. Everything was as expected of not better, 10/10 homey vibes. I will definitely miss exploring in this van and will be sure to book again next time I am in NZ.
