Hiring rules

• EMERGENCY If any engine lights come on the dashboard, pull over immediately. If an accident occurs, get off the road, stay safe, call Camplify on 0800 779 779 and AA Priority Line on 0800 734 543.
• DAMAGE If damage happens, you must report it immediately who, what, where and when will be required.
• NO OffRoad
• NO Beach Driving
• NO Gravel Roads
• NO Smoking, Vaping or candles inside
• NO oneway hires, pick up and return to Auckland only.
• FUEL Return full of DIESEL All hires include a full tank upon departure.
• CLEANING Clean the equipment and Van (inside and out). If we have to do additional cleaning after you return the van, there will be an extra fee (eg, if the van is not washed the fee is $100.00). The vehicle returned in a tidy state with grey and black water tanks emptied
• TOILET If the toilet is returned unemptied or the blade has been left open there will be a $200.00 cleaning fee.
• COOKING GAS Return FULL refilled from petrol stations.
• POWER Please keep in mind that in order to use the plugs onboard you will need to be plugged in at a powered campsite and be conscious that the fridge and USB ports are powered by the battery in the cabin which recharges itself each time you drive, so if you are parked up for two days or more the fridge will stop and your food will warm! If this happens when camping run the engine to recharge the second battery.
• AWNINGS Please exercise caution when utilizing the awnings as they are susceptible to damage during windy conditions. It is recommended to retract them if wind gusts are present.
• HEIGHT RESTRICTIONS Please take note that VitaminSea is 2.65m tall. It is crucial to keep in mind that you are not allowed to enter drivethroughs, upperlevel carparks, or any areas with height restrictions.
• ROAD USER CHARGES With Diesel fuel there is a Road User Charge at the end of the hire, which is charged at 0.9c per KM. Camplify will facilitate this charge based on the start and end odometer readings and this will be paid for through your bond after the completion of the trip.
• ADDITIONAL KM CHARGES FOR LONG TRIPS Hirers are welcome to travel in VitaminSea up to 200 km per day. (This will be averaged out over the duration of hire Example: 5 days hire = 5 x 200km Allowance) After this limit is reached, extra km are absolutely fine but they will be chargeable. Camplify will facilitate a charge of 50c per kilometre over the allocated allowance based on the start and end odometer readings and this will be paid for through your bond after the completion of the trip.

  Vitamin Sea was a gem! We took her out for 3 months and she felt like home from the first second. Yes, she is slow when going uphill, but it gives you more time to enjoy the amazing country. She has a lot of clever features, like magnetic hooks, to make your life easier. Small enough to fit in regular parking spots, but spacious enough to get through a rainy day. Gemma was great in communication, super easy to reach out to and always replying fast. Vitamin Sea was 5/5, we definitely recommend!

  We had an amazing time travelling the North and South Island in Vitamin Sea. Gemma was really easy to communicate with and gave us a clear explanation of how to use it. We would definitely book again!

  We had the best month travelling New Zealand in Vitamin Sea! Gemma was a very a friendly and helpful host giving us good tips on where to go. Communication was good throughout our travels as we had some very minor issues with the van (these things happen!). We would 100% recommend Gemma and Vitamin Sea - a very comfortable van, perfect for anything from a weekend away to four weeks around this beautiful country :)

  VitaminSea is like Old Faithful, reliable, cheap and easy to drive. It has a surprising number of features like (automatic transmission), a toilet and shower - which is convenient for freedom camping or staying overnight at a carpark before the ferry. There are thoughtful features of the camper like an awning, rechargeable lights/fans and complimentary extras like tea/coffee/condiments etc provided by the owner and it is obviously a beloved family camper. Gemma is friendly and provides quick communication and weather updates. We enjoyed travelling around the upper South Island in this van this summer. The van is more suited for just 2 adults (stretching to 2 adults plus child) can be a bit confining.
