VEHICLE SPECIFICATIONS: * Ford Transit 2013 (LWB) van * High roof (can stand up straight in most areas up to around 165cm) * Manual 6-speed transmission * Diesel engine * Certified Self Contained (green - until 2029) UP FRONT * 3 spacious front seats * After market Stereo (new) (Android Auto / Apple Car Play / Bluetooth) * Reversing camera * Air conditioning * Drink / bottle holders * Lots of personal storage options for loose items ELECTRICAL * 240V (mains power) System - Merlot can be connected to power mains at commercial campgrounds using our extension cable and external attachment. 240V devices can then be run using the powerpoint inside. The cooler fridge will convert to 240V upon connection. Please note that there is no 240V connection/charging when NOT at a powered site. * 12V (battery power) System - This is the primary mobile system used when travelling and not at a powered site at a commercial campground. Features a 110Ah house battery, but can feed into the 2x vehicle batteries if dire, using an isolating switch. This system runs all functional components in the van, including: cooler fridge, pump, toilet, USB charging sockets, roof lighting (main area, kitchen, and toilet separately), LED lighting strip, stereo. There are 4 locations to USB charge from, including: under the table, next to iPad mount, stereo, and up front in the cabin. All are USB-A sockets, except the front, which is USB-C. We have a dedicated space (secured with cam-straps) in the toilet room for 1x large roller suitcase, OR multiple backpacks. Extra suitcases would need to be stored on the front middle seat. *We love going on adventures too, so please allow us up to 2 days to respond to enquiries when we're out and about. We are as fast as lightning to respond to messages when we have reception though!

Hiring rules

• RULES & CONDITIONS
• Trip Intentions:
• * South Island travel for bookings less than 6 weeks this is due to contingency logistics and mileage issues.
• Hirer Rules:
• * No smokers / vapers.
• * No offroad adventures the van isn't insured for this and assistance can be limited in these areas if you get stuck. Wellformed gravel roads are ok.
• * We expect hirers to be respectful and considerate, and return the van in the same condition it was picked up.
• * Driver(s) of the van MUST be confident with manual transmission, rearwheel drive, and reverse parking (using a reverse camera) in car parks / roadside parks with the long wheelbase van.
• Travel Rules:
• * Roadside assistance is covered on this vehicle. Call Camplify Assistance should you encounter any issues. Unforeseen mechanical/engine issues will not be charged to renters.
• * All fines are paid by the renter and are not tied to the van. This includes all speeding and camping fines.
• Van Return Rules:
• * Must be returned with a full tank of fuel.
• * Must have the grey water tank (under sink) AND toilet cassette emptied and cleaned upon return.
• * All rubbish must be emptied.
• * Must be returned in same condition. Report all damage it will be assessed, and potentially, the repair costs charged back to renter. All unreported damage will be charged back to renter upon assessment.
• * A deepcleaning fee of $150.00 will be charged if the van needs a deepclean after your hire. * Please don't cook any meals with a strong odour inside the van, and keep doors and windows shut if you are parked next to a fire pit so that the inside won't smell of smoke.
• RUCs Road user charges:
• Are paid to the New Zealand government as diesel doesn’t include tax like petrol at the pump. RUC go towards the maintenance of heavier vehicles such as this one on our roads. These are calculated per kilometre (for this vehicle it costs $0.09/Km ) these will be added up at the end of your hire and will be charged through Camplify.
• LONG TRIPS
• We allow for 200km of travelling per day. This distance will be averaged out over the duration of hire. Example: for a 5day hire you would have 1000km (5x 200 = 1000) This will be checked on the return of the van. Additional distance travelled will be charged at $0.40 per kilometre.

• Note: We don't live in Queenstown town centre itself. Queenstown CBD pickup is possible, but due to parking limitations and traffic, we advise and prefer Frankton Bus Hub (this is nearer to the supermarkets anyway).
