Hiring rules

• Driver age restriction 25. Must have licence to drive a manual vehicle.
• No smoking inside.
• Do not use the awning in high winds. awning damage is the most common insurance claim!
• Return with full tank of diesel fuel and full LPG or additional charges will apply. (we can swap a 4.5kg gas bottle for $25.00)
• Return with grey and black waters dumped or a cleaning fee will apply.
• No offroad driving / beach driving / extended driving on gravel roads.
• Any damage must be reported immediately – who, what, where and when will be required including photos.
• Pull over immediately if any engine lights come on. Call Camplify on 03 668 1211
• If an accident occurs, get off the road, stay safe and call Camplify on 03 668 1211 – they will advise on how to contact roadside assistance. Then call me!
• If you get a flat tyre unless you are competent to change the tyre call Camplify on 03 668 1211
• Road tolls are included in your hire, up to 10 tolls.
• Any fines including freedom camping infringements, or traffic infringement's incurred are to be advised on return and are your cost.

  It was very disappointing and stressful because we had a black water leak in the shower so Peter had to swap the Moose for their own private van but...we spent 2 nights and a day with this leak/problem which got progressively worse before the swap. The first night Tues, my husband realised we had a leak. At that stage there was no smell. On Wed, there was a noticeable smell but...we thought this was normal, so we emptied the black water and put a capsule in but there was still a leak so my husband put a towel in place for the leak. We thought it may have been an overflow of the water refill we did before emptying the black water? There odor remained Thurs morning, so, I rang Peter about the problem but no answer. Both Walter and I were out for the day and on returning, the smell was unbearable and the towel was saturated and blue. I had not received a return call from Peter so I rang him again that evening and explained the dilemna to him. I told him the ultimate reason for hiring his van was having the convenience of a toilet and shower for our holiday comfort but it has not been at all comfortable or convenient. He and his wife came immediately and fortunately they were able to swap the Moose for their private van. When we swapped vans, the handover was somewhat hurried as it was going on dark with the threat of rain and there was no booklet to reiterate how the van worked? Peter and his wife told us they did not have time to clean the replacement van but they changed the sheets/pillowcases. I believe we definitely emptied their Grey because we hadn't used the shower or the sink for dishes and perhaps ? their black water too. While traveling up to Lake Karapiro at the beginning of our holiday, Tues 13th Jan, the Moose appeared to have a suspension problem (we jokingly renamed the van to the Bouncy Castle as we were constantly bouncing) but every time we went over a roll of raised road, the pressure of this forced a connection that resulted in a very loud crunching noise that suddenly happened giving us a fright? During the orientation of the van with Peter, he fore warned us that the motor could cut out if we went into a bad pot hole but these weren't pot holes just the roll of the road. Peter had shown us under the bonnet how to restart the motor if it cut out. A bit scary, that is why we avoided pot holes and slowed down to avoid the crunch. Unfortunately this was our first experience in a campervan which was stressful and inconvenient but we can laugh about it now.

  Amazing The motorhome had everything you need! And I mean everything to have a comfortable holiday! Peter has thought of everything! The handover was thorougher and the home was so comfortable! Economical on diesel we were so happy with our choice! We thank you so much Moose and Peter for looking after us!

  We had an amazing trip in Moose exploring Northland. The camper is very functional, great layout, loads of storage for food, clothes and toys. We took kitesurf gear and mountain bikes. We didn't need to plug in at all over our 11 day trip. Peter had set up the camper up really well with everything we needed to cook and clean, he was great to deal with and very responsive to questions. Highly recommend booking Moose for a trip! We will definitely book again!
