Hiring rules

• Standard pickup/dropoff is from central Auckland between 8am and 8pm, 7 days a week. Alternatively, another location and/or time can be arranged for an additional cost.
• The following activities and items are not allowed inside the van: smoking, vaping, illegal drugs, pets.
• Cooking is provided by way of a camping stove in the pullout kitchen unit. Under no circumstances should this be relocated to the inside of the van, unless by prior written approval.
• The windout awning must be packed away before bad weather arises to avoid damage.
• Driving is only permitted on sealed roads unless by prior written approval. Limited offroad driving is permitted for gaining access to an authorised camping section (paid or freedom camping), but please ensure this is always on firm ground, and at low speeds. Never drive on beaches.
• Please drive with care and attention, and according to the NZ Road Code at all times.
• In the event of a vehicle accident, vehicle failure, or vehicle engine lights coming on, pull over as quickly and safely as possible to a suitable offroad position. Move all passengers to a safe place and contact Camplify immediately (03 668 1211) for assistance and to notify who, what, where, and when. Then contact the owner and send documents to minerva@outlook.co.nz
• In the event of all other damage, accidents, and incidents, report these to Camplify as soon as practicable, then contact the owner.
• Please return the van in the same condition it was given to you. You can expect this to be with a full tank of 91 petrol, and everything to be clean, tidy, and hygienic. Cleaning products will be provided for this purpose.
• The service fee is to cover restocking, and basic cleaning of the interior and exterior to prepare the van for the next hirer. It does not cover deep cleaning of any areas, which will be charged at a rate of $100.00 per hour for however long it takes, and potentially an additional toilet cleaning fee of $500.00 where this has to be returned to a hygienic state.
• Payment of a deposit is required within 48 hours of your booking being approved, otherwise it may be cancelled
• The following are included in the hire charges:
• A cooking gas cylinder – If additional gas is required during the trip, this is at your expense and the refill should be carried out by an authorised refill station.
• Toll roads for the hired vehicle – up to a maximum of 2 tolls per day of hire where the owner is advised within 2 days of the toll. All additional tolls are chargeable.
• Travel distance equal to 250km multiplied by the number of days of hire. This can be used as you wish, but should not exceed 700km in any given day. Exceeding either of these limits will result in additional kilometers being charged at $0.25 per kilometer.

• Hirer must be 25 years of age or older.

  Minerva was perfect for a perfect van trip in NZ - reliable and clean, everything worked and the van ran smoothly and didnt guzzle fuel. Excellent battery system and great ceiling fan for keeping the interior free of humidity when sleeping. Great windows near the bed for viewing the beautiful places we stayed. Very handy to have an upright fridge in a can that is not gigantic. Comfortable and private sleeping and good camper chairs and table for relaxing under the awning if the sun is too hot or its raining. Minerva made our trip easy and care free. Thanks a bunch for the fab two weeks around the island Minerva (and James and Wendy!).
