We had an amazing experience with Buddy! The van was spotless, incredibly easy to drive, and super cozy to sleep in. Rodd has thoughtfully curated the space with everything you could possibly need for camping. There was ample storage and clever touches throughout that made the trip so comfortable. Driving Buddy was a breeze, especially with cruise control on long stretches. Being able to connect our phone via Bluetooth for music was really handy, and the phone holder for navigation truly saved us on multiple occasions. The automatic doors were surprisingly useful while camping, and the fairy lights added such a warm, charming vibe in the evenings. Most importantly, Buddy gave us zero issues throughout our 9 day road trip around the South Island. It truly lived up to its name and was a perfect travel companion. Rodd was an outstanding host. He took the time to walk us through every detail of the van and made sure we were fully comfortable before setting off. Throughout the journey, he was always just a call or message away if we needed anything. He has a great personality and it was so easy and fun to communicate with him. The airport pickup and drop off was such a thoughtful and generous touch. The South Island is absolutely stunning, and having Buddy made the experience even more special. Thank you so much, Rodd, for making our trip so memorable. We would absolutely love to hire Buddy again in the future!

Genuinely one of the best rental experiences Ive ever had - Buddy is the perfect van to explore with and Rodd has taken care of every detail! The bed is so comfy, the van drives beautifully, and the living set up was perfect (great stove, table&chairs, crockery, fairy lights etc). I got lots of compliments on the van at different campsites and I loved the fixed bed (so I didnt have to worry about setting it up every night). Rodd is also fantastic - he collected me from the airport and gave me such a lovely welcome. If Im back out this way I will definitely rent from him again! I rented Buddy for just under 4 weeks and it was a life changing experience that gave me access to some of the most beautiful parts of NZ - thank you Rodd!

Vincent Van Go was our loyal travel companion for two weeks and he certainly didn't disappoint. We had the most amazing time in New Zealand and the van provided everything we needed and more. It was also so lovely to meet Rodd, the owner, who made sure everything went super smoothly and even gave us a lift from Christchurch so that we didn't have to worry about anything at all. We'd definitely recommend hiring on of his vans (we got to test out two of them already and both were equally as amazing) for your New Zealand adventure.

We had the best time travelling in Hercules. The van was super clean when we received it and had everything we needed and more. The communication with the owner Rodd was superb all the way through and we couldn't recommend hiring one of his vans for your New Zealand adventure more!

We had a really cool 2.5-week-long trip around the South Island with Vincent. Everything went absolutely smoothly! Rodd is the nicest and most reliable host you can ask for. He picked us up from the train station before our trip and gave us a ride to the airport afterwards - for free! He tends to this vehicles meticulously, is always reachable for questions and recommendations and we really enjoyed chatting with him. We highly recommend booking with him! The van was very well equipped and met our needs just fine. (The only thing we want to point out for other travelers: Let Rodd explain to you how the radio works exactly when picking up Vicent! As the van is a Japanese import, it took us quite a while to figure out how we are able to play music via our smart phones.) Thank you Rodd and Vincent for this great adventure! We will be back. :-)

I had an amazing 8-day roadtrip with Buddy! The van has everything you need for a comfortable trip. It's very easy to drive, it has all the tools for cooking, including a table and camping chairs, and the mattress is super comfy. Rodd is one of the nicest people Ive met. He picked me up from the airport, took the time to explain everything, shared helpful tips and apps to download for the trip, and made himself available in case I needed anything - which I didnt, because everything went incredibly smoothly. If youre thinking about doing a road trip in NZ, you should definitely rent Buddy! It will be an adventure of a lifetime - the south island is stunning!

Rodd is an angel! We rent Hercules for 3 weeks and had the best Roadtrip. The Van is really reliable and well equiped. The driving experience ist excellent and gas consumption is really low. We could reach Rodd anytime and he took care of us all the time. He is a lovely human beeing and gave us a lot of great recommendations. Thanks you Rodd for the great time! As seasoned road trippers, weve used a fair few campers now and Buddy has quite easily been our favourite so far. Third van of this trip and the only one where everything just worked. Good storage, brilliant layout and nothing crammed in taking up space without a use. Rodd is amazing - builds the vans himself and it shows in the little details. Very responsive if you need anything before / during the booking. He also kindly helped with pick up and dropped us exactly where we needed to be after which made life very easy. The bed fit us for two adults. Im 62 and slept comfortably for 2 weeks. If youre taller it might be tight but for most people its ideal. It handles really well on mountain roads, cruise control is great on longer drives and having Bluetooth makes the road trips better. We had a great time in Buddy and would happily book with Rodd again. Already recommended to friends planning a South Island trip.
