We are a Danish couple who rented a Solano 2 Berth motorhome from John Beardmore, Auckland through Camplify. The rental started on February 1st 2026 and lasted for 5 weeks. Booking through Camplify was easy. We had 5 very successful weeks in John's motorhome. It was not new, but the rental price compensated well for that. John is extremely friendly, helpful and reliable. If we were to rent a motorhome in New Zealand again, we would not hesitate for a moment to do it with John again. Easy to drive. Great bathroom with lots of room compared to other vans. Some electrical points we found didnt work like the tv socket, owner was unaware and Im sure will rectify. John gave us a lift to the and from where we needed to go which he didnt need to do and was very kind. Tolls are covered by owner and no need to fill up gas bottle which saves a headache at the end of hire. Thankyou John for your lovely hospitality

Given the length of seven meters, the van drives quite well. I had to struggle quite a lot of winds, which the car handles reasonably well due to its front wheel drive. Maneuvering needs some practice and one needs to watch the tail constantly. Having the camera in the back helps. After several days of rain it got a bit blurred and I needed to wipe it clean. Not a big thing, just do it. The gearbox is Fiat, so it's a bit difficult to use. You get used to it. Still, I switched sometimes from 6 to 3 or 1 to 4. Internal things (fridge, heating, tap water, shower, etc.) are all in working order and for a single or two occupants it offers lots of space. The side door goes right, which is a bit inconvenient for left sided traffic. Just watch out when stopping on the side and opening it. Enjoy the time.

Had an awesome time in the motorhome driving around the Coromandel. The bed was more comfortable than we expected, the kitchen well equipped and 'house' was warm. Took a couple of days to get used to the size (I drive a Suzuki Vitara), but after that all was good. John was very helpful, and flexible for the pickup and drop off times

We enjoyed this spacious 2-berth campervan. It was fuel efficient and drove well. John was excellent to deal with and we really appreciated being picked up from the airport.

This van, just dropped her off today after being down at matatini. She showed us mount rpehu mount Taranaki and the awa (rivers) in between. She was a jem to drive. Cheap on gas, shower was excellent, bed was amazing. Looking at the stars through the sky light open. Never ran out of power soular was great! And easy to drive. She's got a big bottom end but after an hour you know what your up to and just trust the process of driving her. John was amazing. Left car there the whole time. All information needed. Can't wait to take her out again

Excellent van, with 6 speed gearbox cruised at 100 kph effortlessly. Great communication from John, even left our vehicle at his place.

Van description was almost accurate, and John has given us a smooth briefing. Global behavior is good, it's running well. We would have liked a better air suspension at rear for people sitting at the back . We had an issue regarding the boiler which didn't work, although regular communication with John. I believe this will be fixed soon for further rental trips Although van isn't new, as we have seen overall cab maintenance should have been better, since regular renting means usually heavy usage, on doors, closets, windows etc.

The great thing about getting this motorhome was the John kindly picked us up at the airport and delivered us back to the airport. Motorhome is very comfortable and the vehicle is so easy to drive. Shower is really great and being able to free camp with the extra solar panels was a real benefit..
