A compact little van with everything you need. Likes to cruise at 90km but can go faster if required.

Had a great holiday. Henry coped well with the hills, parking in the city was a breeze and enjoyed the flexibility to travel and adventure.

Great communication flexible with pick up and return times, van as per description, great to travel in and runs well, fun to drive, did so much of the south island in 3 weeks! Only downside was the lights were not working and the propane was empty but we made do. Warm enough bed for cool nights and surprisingly comfy.

Could not have had a more perfect van for our 13 day road trip around the South! Having the space to cook, eat and just chill out indoors when we had a few rainy days was amazing, and when the sun shined, it was great that there were camping chairs provided to sit outdoors and enjoy. The van drives like a dream; we deliberately looked at hiring a manual for those windy, steep inclines we were expecting (Milford Sound especially) and Henry took it all like a champ! Communication with Hamish was great, any questions we had he was quick to answer. Would definitely recommend hiring this van :)

Hamish and Henry were excellent to work with. The van had everything we could have wanted for our 3 week trip. Hamish was very friendly and willing to share tips and tools with us. It was shockingly comfortable to sleep in and great on cold rainy nights. We moved every 2-3 days and had no issues with battery health. The Weber grill and NZ's quality meat was a highlight for me. It was often windy in NZ and the van would become challenging to drive. We are from Oregon, USA and accustom to rough weather/terrain but it was sometimes grueling with high winds and steep climbs/decents. If you are an experienced manual transmission driver then I highly recommend this van for your trip. If you are unsure or want a more comfortable/safer feeling drive then you might want to opt for a shorter or heavier campervan.

We had a fantastic time in the cheeky chappy that is Henry! We spent 2 weeks travelling to the lakes, down to Glenorchy and back up the West Coast. He drives really well and can handle most hills, except a couple where you may need to look after him e.g. Crown Range to QTown. He is spacious inside enough for two adults, and has all the amenities you need from cooking facilities to working water and a fridge. The battery lasted really well even during periods when we didn't drive him for a couple of days, and the water supply was plenty. You can charge phones and devices inside him (from USB, the mains plugs didn't work for us), and there is plenty of storage. We found Henry to be plenty warm during April nights down South, and Hamish provided us with extra blankets. Whilst an older van, Henry is in great condition, drives well, and has everything we needed for a great trip. Hamish was helpful during pick-up, is investing in Henry, and was very attentive to any questions we had during the trip. Definitely recommend Henry, and we hope to maybe see him again one day!
